Will this Anniversario model be a model year 2016 or 2017? Kind of late in the year for a 2016, right?

I believe any bike manufactured I.E with a manufacture date stamped on the frame tag June or earlier will be that model year current after that month and it will be the next year.

so in other words If the manufacture date is june 2016 its a 2016 if its mf date is july 1st 2016 its a 2017 this may not apply in all countries but afaik it is this way in the U.S

ducati was founded In 1926
2016 - 1926 = 90

I like the bike btw something to hold onto IMO

If you (read: anybody) do not have a 1299S, and want a 1299S with an Akra exhaust, lighter battery, etc...then yes, this would be a viable (and likely less expensive) option.

My only point is that if someone already has a modded 1299S like I do, this bike isn't necessarily an upgrade (meaning performance upgrade). But yes, if you don't have a 1299S and want to get one and mod it, you could just as easily get this version and be done with it, you wouldn't have to spend extra money on mods.

I was the first on the list out of three at the Dallas dealer AMS, but have decided against buying one. I found that with the 1299S model year incentives and negotiating for a floor model, I could purchase a 2016 with a full system, DP rearsets, and all the carbon fiber bits, then add a Shorai battery and have $$$ left over for COTA in August.

I was really only interested because of the exclusivity, livery, and otherwise not owning a liter class Ducati.

To me it isn't worth it considering what I have already in my 899 and RR, so I will wait to see what is around the corner.

Thank you for the confirmation. I was pretty excited to see this bike when it was announced, but since I've never owned a ducati before I was wondering if these type of "special" edition give you a good value consider all the aftermarket parts on it. The more I look into the aftermarket part prices on a ducati, the more it does seem like a great value.

I did test ride a 1299s I loved how it felt. Coming from an 09 R1, the bike felt super light and nimble, not to mention how good it looked~!

I really do not want to beat this toppic to death. If you already have a 1299S, switching to an Anniversario doesn't make much sense, except if you're keen on the LE number or the fairings and rims.

If you want to buy your 1st Panigale, I would either go for an R as a track whore or the Anniversario for street riding (it's really a fair package).

@TJ: The only thing that I am concerned of is that delivery shall be in December (for Switzerland). I could imagine that Ducati comes with a 1299S MY 2017 with a lot more features/improvements. That would really suck if I have to wait half a year to get the Anniversario, and a month later the bike would be outdated already...

what if there's not going to be a Panigale MY 2017, and the Anniversario is the last iteration?

We normal mortals won't know yet. I think Ducati presently became one of the top brands in terms of R&D and marketing in the motorcycle industry. So it would be pretty logical if they continue improving the 1299 line before introducting their Panigale successor (hopefully their 1000ccm V4 superquadro superbike :))

I really liked this bike at first, but after a week I am no longer impressed. I think it would have been much nicer if it had a tricolore colour scheme but at the same time I'm glad that it doesn't because I own a tricolore :) I think the tricolore was much more special but I am biased of course.

What parts do I need to get my 1299s to have same geometry as Aniversario are they interchangeable ?
TJ 99 did you Adress clutch slave cylinder bleeding every 100mls problem for this model

Those parts have been listed in this thread.
Also, not everyone is having the same problem with clutch bleeding every 100 miles. So, not sure if you can call it a particular problem with "this" model. I have comrades in addition to myself who have not had this issue with the Pani, but I have had the issue with my 848. The funny thing is all I did was change the brand of clutch fluid and the problem never returned. I did that 3 years ago.

Interesting comment here, I did the master cylinder about two months ago and have had to order a new slave cylinder this week, none available in Australia, has to come from Italy, the guys in Brisbane replaced three last week. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue?

The billet aluminium steering head inserts are what changes the geometry. Clutch cylinder is identical between the bikes so no diffference.

I hear you my friend, I am happy for you you don't have this problem, but I've seen few people on this board complain about this, here is what I did @first went to a dealer ,they bled my clutch , didn't fix the problem, changed to aftermarket slave cylinder with motul race oil , problem is still there ,I guess nothing is perfect in this life,

on other note if I would be on the market for a street (not track)bike I would buy this Aniversary for sure , so TJ99 give us iPhone 9 soon so we can all switch
