Why the animosity from some of you? They want to sell us a "more" limited edition of the Panigale. What's wrong with that? I'm sure there are more than enough willing customers that want one. Not a 100% sure that I can, but I would like one!
Besides, it will be beneficial to all of us when the new bike's "exotic" parts or its derived tech will trickle down to other models in the future. I can think of many past-exotic parts that are widely available now. Traction control, CF/titanium parts, fly-by-wire throttle, ABS, active/electronic suspension, etc. I'm one of those that like to try new tech.
I just bought the R in April and this was the fourth bike in 2 years so this news is not going to fly too well with my wife. Especially since I bought a Leica Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 lens last week.
I'm running out of excuses... What excuse can I use now? It might be possible to convince my wife if it comes out next June or so, since the R will be over a year old. Maybe I'll use the same excuse that I've used so often and worked the best... "my bike feels weird, or my bike is falling apart... it's not safe. You don't want me to ride an unsafe bike do you?"
