My Baby is about to get her first service next week.

I have had a couple of occasions that the engine and cut out, seems to happen at lights

Also my fuel consumption seems to high 4.2 Litres/100Ks.

Would be great to hear from any other issues and does the fuel consumption seem ok?

Cheers

4.2 seems good. Pretty much what I get after 1800 kms

Mine did that twice on the same ride. That was also the only time I ever carried a passenger. I didn’t mention it at my first service as it never happened again. However, I got the service done and the bike sat for 3 weeks while I was away. Now it struggles to start (particularly when out in the heat all day) Battery voltage is good. Not sure if they messed with something. Not sure what to even check. Anyone else has this problem? I have an appointment for 10/26 to check it out. We only have one Ducati technician on Oahu!

Fuel trims take a few drive cycles to adjust for altitude and fuel. Expect it to do odd things after a reset or a battery disconnect

When temps where in the 90s, mine would take a couple attempts coming out of the 70 degree living room. Letting it sit outside for a minute helped.

Now,if it doesn't start the first crank, I flip it off, pull the key and then it always starts. I am very close to my router/modem where I start it in the yard

Interesting. Mine seems fine (mostly- not instantly like pre-service) starting in the garage. It's when it sits outside work all day in the Hawaiian sun that it struggles. My concern is, it had no issue at all before the service so I'm going to have them go back through it to see if something is out of spec. Today I sought out a shadier spot so we'll see...

I'm sending my R in for its first Desmo service at 3150 miles.
2500 is track/racing.
Not risking the engine sucking in a valve.

Yes, contemplating an oil change soon. 2500 miles on the current gallon and three is a bunch of clutch dust in the mix.

First time it shows, I will probably check the valve clearances to see if they are still at spec

Same here, prob going in on or before 3k.

Still having significant starting issues, particularly when it's been sitting in the sun for awhile. Very frustrating. I also noticed higher idling today which went away after I revved it out. Perhaps they are related. My service appointment is still 2 weeks away which is frustrating because this all started after they performed the first service at ~1000 miles. No issues prior to the service!

That sucks. Can you start it and let it idle through a couple fan cycles? If that does not help, I would disconnect the negative battery terminal overnight then drive it a couple hours straight.

I think they have swapped to winter blend already here.

I still cycle the key, if it doesn't fire first crank.

This mf just almost stranded me. It sat in a parking lot for about an hour after running fine and absolutely wouldn’t turn over. I had to push it into some shade and let it cool off. It was about 88° F outside. Luckily it’s going into the dealer tomorrow. Of course it was 100% fine until they put their paws on it for the first service. Very frustrating.

Sorry to hear. Have you tried another dealer?
Unfortunately there’s only one on the island of Oahu. It’s not even a full Ducati shop. They are primarily Harley but sell the major European and Japanese bikes as well. Apparently there is just one guy certified Ducati. I may have to enroll myself!

Call/write it in to a Ducati corporate.

Sounds like the issue I had after a 4 hour ride. Stranded about 150 miles from home. I was finally able to get it to crank after about an hour. Dealer said it was probably due to the particulate filter. It’s going in on Wednesday for its first service. Hopefully they’ll remove the canister or do whatever it’s takes for so it doesn’t happen again.

Just a reminder to not overfill the fuel tank. Fill below the bottom of the filler opening. If it fills to high fuel can enter the fuel canister and cause flooding.
