Hi all,

I have an order in for a '23 Panigale V4S. I am considering having the full Akra titanium lowered exhaust installed, and would like to hear some opinions on it. I don't race, and don't care about how "cool" the exhaust sounds. The only reason that I am considering getting it, is because I've read/heard that the engine "heat radiation" is not as bad on the butt and legs as with the stock exhaust.

If any of you Akra owners could share some before and after experiences, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

A lot of heat comes from the under-seat bend and the exhaust box under the motor. I have longer legs, so I don't hug the rear cyl banks with my legs. I wouldn't do the full system no gains on the street for the big $$ in installation/parts. I put the Termi cat-back and also changed the metal shield under the seat for a CF one from Full Sixx. Zero heat issues.

Get another brand if you are worried about heat, you are riding a chunk metal that by design simply gets hot, 215hp and the laws of physics.
Many of the solutions online are not much more than wishful thinking, as mentioned the pipe routing under the seat is a source but whether its Akra or home depot brand its the location of the plumbing that matters. The cat etc may act as a heatsink but my experience is that it makes no discernible difference.
Heat shielding under the seat, aftermarket subframe..may be options?
Best solution is to wear leathers and carry on but 5 plus k just to reduce heat is total WOFTAM

Thanks for all of the input! I think my decision may not be that hard after-all:

During a visit to the dealer yesterday, they had a Pangiale V4 in the shop for some work; took me over to it, fired it up, and popped it into gear so I could hear the stock exhaust volume with all 4 cyclinders "running" at idle.

Good grief, that was loud! I was told that with the Akra, the volume would be much louder, even with the DB Killer(s) inserted. It that's true, then I think that even with earplugs, the volume would be far too loud for my liking.

Dealer said that part of the work on this bike will be installing a full Akra, and that he would invite me back to hear the volume once it has been installed --- so I'll go back then, and check it out.

I had the full exhaust installed the day my sp2 arrived. Didn't even want to hear it with stock. It's a no brainer making the switch and letting it reach it's full potential and drop all that weight. Why would anyone use stock exhaust on any bike?

I’ve done every mod you can think of on my bike, the only thing that solved or even affected the heat issue was getting the H2O radiator WITH the spec that allows the mounting of one of you stock fans, AND tuning the fan to come on earlier and stay on longer.

Different exhaust won’t help heat significantly, more cooling does.

Incidentally it’s probably about the same price to do either, you do have to sort a few other mods like overflow bottle location but that’s not hard.

Why did you buy a Ducati?

Living room furniture? Garage ....?

Vespa’s are very quiet, their’s probably some pretty tricked out ones out there.

Actually I take back part of my previous post, when I put the FullSix rear subframe on it helped

The stock subframe is a big metal radiator fin.

But even after that I was still getting enough heat down by my left ankle to cause a burn without leathers….Bigger radiator and fan tuning solved that though…also even on the hottest days at the track I’m briefly touching 4 bars on the heat indicator.

Pinwheel, if you're feeling the heat, then you are not riding fast enough. I find that the heat goes down when I ride faster.

These bikes are designed to make serious power and go very fast, the italians build a focussed sport bike for focussed sport riding, if you want to pootle through traffic to coffee shops then you will feel heat rise and it is uncomfortable.
It's not a fault, or a design flaw, it's a byproduct of a fast sports bike.

Buy the akra, I run mine without dB killers and sure it's loud, but the bike is loud anyway, a little more isn't a big deal.
I ride mine on the road, canvas jeans and all other safety gear and it's not a problem, got snapped by a photographer recently on it....323891867_1217039365592718_5736931569123266009_n.jpeg
