Full Termi's... No Racing Evo?

So I called the next closest dealer to me (which is about two hours away) and explained the issue to him and his first thought was that when the tech "uploaded" the map the second time, he actually returned it back to stock. Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense given the fact that I tried to plug it in and load it and all it says is "map already present" and the only option is to exit. He also stated that with the 2014's there some type of diagnostic tool the dealers have to use to install upmaps on them apparently which he said is why I couldn't do it in my own garage.

So idk... I'm a bit confused to say the least. My plan at this point is to take it back to the dealer who installed the exhaust and uploaded the map twice and get them to try it again. If they can't get it to work then I'll try to send it back to the seller and see if he can try to pull the map off of his bike again and see if that works. Because my dealer swears up and down that either the map I have is on the bike or the map I have is the stock map meaning the guy I got it from never took it off of his bike before shipping it out. Sooooooo, idk.

.

Jarel here, states the 899 it required to have the DDA hooked up at he dealer.

He did not mention the 1199

I was checking on this and came up empty, You might ask Jarel

Just an update on this issue, I contacted the seller of the upmap that I received, explained everything to him and he said that he'd gladly pay to have it shipped back and get his tech to put the map back on and send it back to me.

So I had a package on my doorstep today and it was directly from his tech and inside was actually two maps... One, the part number is 96524311B which I believe to be the full Termi upmap (the one I originally received and was having problems with) and the other is 96524211B which I understand to the the Termi slip on upmap. Well I just came in from my garage and the full upmap still does the same thing I mentioned earlier... Plug it in, "map already present" message displays with "exit" as the only option. Dafuq? So I plug in the slip on upmap for ..... and giggles and it loads easy peasy without an issue. Hmmm......

The EVO key is being used on someone else's bike.

You cannot use on yours because it is gone and the base map is all the key can open as this is what your bike has.

Looks like the seller sent you a slip on key to get you off his back.

I think I had the same problem before. It didn't say racing evo. When I tried to use the upmap, it says it is already present. I thought they gave me someone else's upmap key. The dealer had to call Ducati NA to get an unlock code to reset the computer....well thats what they told me. After that it showed racing evo.

That's kind of the feeling I got too. When I first opened the package and saw two upmaps I was a little surprised/confused. But now that you put it like that, it makes sense.

I was hoping that they might be able to do something like that considering now, I'm not really sure how to handle the situation. Did you get your upmap used or did you get it from a dealer? I'm sure my dealer is tired of dealing with this by now as I've already been up there about three times trying to figure this thing out (no to mention the trouble it sounds like they had with installing the full Termi in the first plac) but if my dealer can just call DNA and get some sort of unlock code and that actually work to unlock the racing Evo map, I'll be a frickin happy camper.

I got the upmap when I picked up my bike (1199r)...but I had to ask for the upmap key. So it is possible they gave me the wrong key...but they never said it was.

From my understanding...the unlock code was only used to reset the computer. You still need the key to change the map.

How did this turn out?

I kept trying to contact the seller to see what we could do but I eventually lost contact with him. We had deduced that the map may have not completed the process of pulling it off the original bike it was loaded on so he was going to take it back, try the process again and ship it back to me to see if that fixes it but like I said, I have lost contact with him. I'm still kind of torn on this because obviously I paid for the full termi map, he actually shipped me the full termi map (which doesn't work) along with the slip on map (which does work and is currently loaded into the bike). I intend on getting a RapidBike anyway but still, the OCD in me wants it setup the way Ducati no Termignoni intended with the correct map and with the mighty fine Racing Evo message on startup.

Kinda like yoruself on this... had slip-on upmap in my bike... downloaded it and my slip-ons with that upmap.
Bought a full system, and loaded the Map from that USB and the bike still shows RACING, not EVO RACING.
different upmap USB part #, so wondering if there was some systems sold with a map that just says RACING?

I talked to the dealer where I purchased my bike and the tech said it has to be done at the dealer! Clearly this is not the case! Mine reads map already exists! WTF? the dealer has no idea! Maybe I'll try Termi customer service tomm

Did you deactivate the RACING map first (to standart map using the UP-MAP key of the slip-ons) before you tried to activate the RACING EVO map?

I guess that might be the way to go.

I had this happen before where the maps were not loading. I went from slip-ons on the tricolore to full.

I had to try a couple of times to make it to load properly, but it should not be as complicated as this thread reads. Once you get the hang of it, you can load and unload maps in seconds.

Maybe the map has to go back on the stick it came with? I also remember playing with mine when I had the slip on and full termi sticks. And as I recall (and answering my own question), I don't think it matters which stick the map is downloaded back onto.

Like I said, in the end, I was able to make it work and I hope you will also.

it is simple process indeed....

Downloaded the one map to the usb stick NO PROBLEM..

quite sure the Map that was sent on the FULL SYSTEM stick, was for a slip on.

wont matter much once i add on a piggyback fuel control unit

Yeah the process is very simple and I went through the process multiple times over just sending the slip on map into the ECU and back without any problems. But whenever I try to load the full map, I get the "map ready exists" message. I actually even went to the dealer to see what they could tell me about it and they went through the same process I had already tried multiple times with no luck. So as of right now, the bike just has the slip on map loaded into it as I feel like the full map was not fully removed from the bike it was originally loaded into before being shipped to me.

Did you try to just unload the slip on map on a stick then load the full map?

Maybe because the Full Map you have is for the R and not regular 1199s? (I am not sure so throwing it out there)

Yeah I pulled the slip on map off the bike and then tried to load the full map. I think someone else mentioned before about there being a difference for those that came with the R and then buying it for an S and I if I remember right, there wasn't a difference. I believe the way it was explained is that all of these maps are already "loaded" onto the bike's computer, the only thing the upmap does it "unlock" that particular map so the bike can use it.
