Help needed - problem with gear position sensor and DQS (Ducati V4 2018)

Do you have a copy of the TSB? My bike is still in the shop awaiting parts.....

New info: the TSB is for what they are calling a “dock” to which the gear position sensor will be attached to, allowing for airflow (and cooling) to the gear position sensor such that it does not fail as a result of overheating from the engine case. No new part number for the gear position sensor itself but as part of the TSB, they send a new sensor.

That’s good to know.
My bike is in getting the updated sensor so I’m guessing this is an additional piece.

Any confirmation on the TSB #? Also curious if you have a picture of the new sensor design? I've been plagued with this issue since September. The dealer said they could not replicate the issue and turned me away...

Your dealer is ..... Is there another you can go to? Or fix a GoPro to your tank, replicate the issue and show them the footage?
This is a common problem when the bike is hot, your dealer should just replace it under warranty.

Name and shame....

My bike had the same problem twice....hot or cold. I get the new new one installed Friday. Will take pics. Warranty fix...

Have the same issue on my 2019 V4, at least occasionally, and first the dealer said reprogramming would fix it… didn’t work. Then they replaced an “internal part” they said (that wasn’t the sensor)… didn’t work. Now they claim to have ordered the sensor, am I being toyed with here? Seems like the sensor would have been the first thing I’d have replaced? Getting tired of bringing it to the dealer just to pick it up not fixed

Can anyone explain how this sensor works and why the dealer would have replaced an “internal part”?

Not sure about the "internal" part. My dealer went right for the GPS and tried to program it, that didnt work...new sensor. Then it failed again.....another new sensor.

I spoke with Ducati North America tonight. They said there is no TSB out for the GPS.
They said to try a different dealer if I am not getting the level of service that I expected from Coleman Powersports. I was instructed to give them a call back when my bike was with a new dealer and they would notify their regional Service Area Manager to get involved with the troubleshooting. They said they don't believe it will be covered under warranty. I have a 2019 w/ 3100 miles and provided my VIN...

Thats a bunch of BS. I would find another dealer or "educate" the dealer you are dealing with. GPS's are shitting the bed like crazy. I have a 2019 with 9k miles....third sensor being swapped in Friday under warranty

New part installed today, so far so good. Will give it a proper test tomorrow in the canyons.

Installed PN: 55244421a
Removed PN: 55243522A

Cool! Dropping mine off tomorrow for the third time (and finally a new sensor) let’s see how this goes
