New to the site but thought I'd share my Diavel logic
I've had a motorcycle in some shape or form since I was a little kid. In 1985 I bought my first street bike, a 1983 GS550ES (Loved that bike)
In 1990 I was rear ended on my 600 Ninja at a stop light by a motorhome and broke my back and that was effectively the end of my sport biking days
I dabbled with Harleys and custom choppers for a few years but could never get past the fact that they didn't handle or stop very well and then I found the Hypermotard ... WOW !!! What a bike. I bought an 1100S in '08 and rode it up until 3 weeks ago.
Last year my woman graduated from dirt bikes to street bikes and we got her a great lil FZR6 which is perfect for her. She has expressed a desire to go on longer trips on our bikes and I knew the Hypers days were numbered (too small a tank, no wind protection, miniscule seat etc )
I needed a replacement ... Enter Diavel !
This bike is everything I need/want ... great seating position, comfy saddle, legendary Ducati handling and power, Ooooooo that power
And really with a first name Dave and last initial L ... could I buy ANY other bike
