Its basically not the same bike, less power. And its for sitting straight up, so when you crack on you are going to launch backwards every time, you dont have fairings to block the force. The oem seat is anything but grippy, if you think about you weight dist @ WOT is it mostly on the pegs of your rear sets? Absolutely not, its on your ... esp on the street fighter. Footpegs moving backwards wont help, the fact is that you body should be more over the front.

The SFV4 makes the same power as a Pani afaik.

About swapping it for a Panigale, I was thrilled at the idea of getting a ‘22 as a dedicated track bike and keeping my SF for the street but I’ve decided on a ten kate R1.

Looks like you’re pre-apex or at it… in both cases you should be looking farther left towards the trajectory.

Unless you’re about to flick it right.

It’s hardly a dumbed down version. It’s basically the same bike but with handle bars which are maybe 3 inches higher than the Pani clipons. Sure that will make a difference and yes my seat is stock but I’m not sliding, I find it grippy especially with leathers.

Streetfighter is a very different bike. Wheelbase is different (which means geometry is drastically different when you start picking up the pace), power band is different, final drive ratio is different, it has a freaking handlebar, downforce distribution is different..... Karl is almost dragging elbow and you are not even dragging a knee. Big part of that is your bike's geometry.

"Its basically the same bike" if you are cruising/chilling and doing lower-mid pack lap times. The differences get exponential once you start climbing up the leaderboard.

Don't know anything about how they are on the street, I am talking strictly from a circuit use perspective.

Glad I chimed in to give you some insight on the reason you started this thread

No offense but you’ve missed the point like many others in this thread. You also don’t recognize the importance of peg support on acceleration.

The tech talk describes this with utmost clarity.

Buddy!

You might wanna check your facts. They’re off.

I may not be at SBK pace right now but I know where I’m lacking. I’m 30 seconds off MotoGP pace and that’s a lot I know even though I’m on Rossi corsa IIs.

The issue here is ergonomics not the bikes potential… or mine.

This is with only a track day on the bike.

Last time I rode a bike was Losail in 2006.

I know my way around a track!

Dude, I hear you. Not knocking you. Just saying if serious track riding is your thing, streetfighter is not the right tool. That R1 you are getting is going to be that much more natural and you are going to be faster on it riding with less stress.

You might be right.

In 2006 I rode 4 track days on a 600RR with street tires and managed a 2:29, this was my first bike and felt very small and awkward. I was hoping for somewhere around 2:15 on the SF but best I got was a 2:24. 15’s is possible, I just need track time but the month apart 1hour track days could be more frequent.

I know you want a solution for footpegs grip

but apart from that

2 things that helped me alot were:

race seat it, with back step

and

rolling the throttle slowly, instead of pinning it quickly

i came from a 600 bike, were throttle was ON/OFF

and on the V4, that ment slidding back and wheelie galoure in second and third gear

After almost a year, I started going a bit smoother on the throttle, and now I ride it like a 600 bike with a tone of power

just my 2 cents

i understand what you are asking, and my attack rearsets Can go farther back, but I just don’t feel comfortable managing the controls, with them on the rearward setting
