Thinking about changing the oil myself. Have done this on jap bikes. Is it just taking fairings off then remove the bolt on the bottom (is this a tricky process?) then drain and add new oil and change oil filter.

Roughly a 1hr job?

Interested in hearing from people who have done it themselves and things to look out for.

Did mine in 35 mins now including the filter. That's the only part thatcan get tricly as you have to pull the cap off gently with a couple of flat screwdrivers wrapped with rags. Another trick that I did not to get oil all ovver when you pull the filter cap off is place a old rag on the exhaust, and into the pan so it absorbs most of the oil and doesn't spill onto the exhaust. Then just throw it out and whipe off any excess oil. Also remember that the filter cap goes on in a certain deircetion. Its not perfectly round.

Good luck.

I haven't put up a How To, but just took all the pics in between the last two track days when I changed out my oil/filter. Came up with an easy solution to get that fookin' filter cover off, too.

Looks like I know what I'm doing for the next hour.... ;)

No big deal, go for it. Use a new crush washer, and place flat side towards case. Be careful not to gouge the cover for the filter as it can be a bit of a pain to remove. Use some bent cardboard to guide the oil away from the top of the exhaust system when pulling the filter from the cavity once the cover is off. Be careful not to overfill which is easy to do. Other than those few cautions, pretty straightforward.
