How it does, what it does (RapidBike)!!!

Help Support Ducati Forum:

so i fitted the RB evo, and updated the map from the 1199 to 1299 version. and i have a BMC filter, and full akra system and up map fited, and the bike feels better already..
i had a quick ride and checked the model and already changes are present in the the Auto calibration tab.
ill carry on for a few more km before accepting the modifications to the fuel map, but surprisingly some of the table entries are at -8 ( the change limit)

Is it worth saving/sending the auto adapter map to the base map screen?

A few cells on mine are at +/- 7 which is the max mine is set to.

If so, how do you save it to the base map?

Thanks

Hi all,
I guess i Willy Go for a RB for my 1229s 2015, but I am really afraid of how to do the fine setup on its features... does anyone know where to ensure it will work propertly in CHILE?

Thanks in advance

Well, I've possibly got an issue with my Rapid Bike module.

I've done around 400 miles since fitting the module. Initially all was good, however I started to develop a flat spot between 6-8K which seems to be getting worse.

Looked at the auto tuning map and cylinder 1 is pretty much all positive values (maxed out in lots of places) and cylinder 2 pretty much all negative values (maxed out in lots of places too). It's almost like the two maps are polar opposites, with most of the peaks and troughs occurring at the rev range I'm experiencing issues with.

I've also noticed that my 02 sensors are reading different values when cold (0.81 and 0.61V) and this disparity continues when the engine is running.

I'm thinking that a have a dodgy 02 sensor and this is feeding the Rapid Bike module bad information and causing the flat spot.

Anyone got any other theories?

I have seen this identical issue - make sure you didn't reverse your O2 Sensor connections.

Erm.... checked today. They were reversed!!

Feel like such an idiot! I was having a couple of beers when I fitted it though.

Sorted the connections and then reset all the maps and took it out for a quick 200 miles!

I am now very happy. No flat spots, no CEL, just more midrange and improved throttle response!

Glad I could help! I troubleshooted my Streetfighter S after Yaman wasn't sure what was wrong (my O2 sensors were labeled in reverse on the Rapidbike harness!).

When I saw my cylinder maps trimming in opposite directions, I checked my O2 sensors first by disconnecting one of them and running the bike while checking the Rapidbike diagnostic screen. Reversed!!

I also reset my maps to zero and had Rapidbike build fresh maps and applied the corrections to the base after 100, 200 and 500 miles. Bike runs great now!

Hello. i have the exact same problem and have turned the autotuning off because i am getting two completely different maps for each cylinder. Can someone help me with location of the o2 sensor plugs? I assume there is one for the horizontal and one for the vertical?

Different maps for each cylinder is normal and partly why the Rapidbike is great as it addresses fueling for each cylinder! However, a poorly running bike with Rapidbike displaying complete opposing map values for each cylinder is typically a problem.

Are you seeing mostly positive Map values on one cylinder and mostly negative on the other?

yes thats exactly what I have going on. i recently had my valve adjustment, and the exhaust shims all had to be changed. afterwards, we put it on the dyno (with the RB autotune on) and it was lean and the AF was off. I must also add that I have the Brentune flash, so my RB map table has been zeroed out until i can figure out whats going on with the autotuning...

That does not look right! Variance is normal, however not that drastic.
You can simply disconect either O2 Sensor and connect Rapidbike to a PC to see if the correct O2 Sensor corresponds to the O2 Sensor not reporting a value.

Yeah i figured something was wrong. are the connectors easy to get to?

Hi All,
Just trying to get my head around this thing as I've never looked at it before and someone has a Rapidbike EVO for sale that I'm considering.

I replaced the engine on my 2015 Panigale R with an RS engine from a race bike and a super stock exhaust. I need a power commander or something similar so I'm guessing this should do the trick?

- Can you download maps from the website to use as a starting point or do you reset it to 'zero' and then let it self learn??
- The guy is selling one from his Panigale 959. I understand the cabling harness is all the same. Is it literally plug it in , turn on self learn and I have everything I need for good time?!
- Is the race version with the ignition maps a completely different unit or can you upgrade to Evo to the Race??

Thanks for the help

I fitted my evo myself. It was supplied with base software for the pani R by the vendor.
I'm guessing this just gives it all the right handshakes to speak to that model.

A friend with a dyno and the rapidbike tuner software then installed a map he originally
created on another R. We then tweaked that over a few hrs on the dyno for open pipe,
and then again for with db killers and created 2 bike specific maps which are now on my
unit. I can switch between them if I ever get the chance to run open pipe at some point.

Given the choice again, I would probably go straight for the race unit, so that
I could get pit lane limiter function amongst others.
Don't know if another tuner can pull my maps off this unit, and transfer to
another one in future, or whether it is locked to my original tuner's ID.

Thanks for the reply. Have you tried the Autotuner function? I'm trying to understand if this is a built in standard function (like with a Bazaz fuelling unit?) as its a nice simple way to get a decent fuelling map without the need to go to a tuner. I can then get a proper custom map later if necessary.

You can download the free rapidbike software and download the maps off the unit and transfer them to another unit.
I used the rapidbike software to try a map that a friend had gotten done at a tuner to compare to mine which was just created by Rapidbike autotuning, and thereby switched them back and forth on my Evo unit.
