How it does, what it does (RapidBike)!!!

Hi All,
Just trying to get my head around this thing as I've never looked at it before and someone has a Rapidbike EVO for sale that I'm considering.

I replaced the engine on my 2015 Panigale R with an RS engine from a race bike and a super stock exhaust. I need a power commander or something similar so I'm guessing this should do the trick?

- Can you download maps from the website to use as a starting point or do you reset it to 'zero' and then let it self learn??
- The guy is selling one from his Panigale 959. I understand the cabling harness is all the same. Is it literally plug it in , turn on self learn and I have everything I need for good time?!
- Is the race version with the ignition maps a completely different unit or can you upgrade to Evo to the Race??

Thanks for the help

I fitted my evo myself. It was supplied with base software for the pani R by the vendor.
I'm guessing this just gives it all the right handshakes to speak to that model.

A friend with a dyno and the rapidbike tuner software then installed a map he originally
created on another R. We then tweaked that over a few hrs on the dyno for open pipe,
and then again for with db killers and created 2 bike specific maps which are now on my
unit. I can switch between them if I ever get the chance to run open pipe at some point.

Given the choice again, I would probably go straight for the race unit, so that
I could get pit lane limiter function amongst others.
Don't know if another tuner can pull my maps off this unit, and transfer to
another one in future, or whether it is locked to my original tuner's ID.

Thanks for the reply. Have you tried the Autotuner function? I'm trying to understand if this is a built in standard function (like with a Bazaz fuelling unit?) as its a nice simple way to get a decent fuelling map without the need to go to a tuner. I can then get a proper custom map later if necessary.

You can download the free rapidbike software and download the maps off the unit and transfer them to another unit.
I used the rapidbike software to try a map that a friend had gotten done at a tuner to compare to mine which was just created by Rapidbike autotuning, and thereby switched them back and forth on my Evo unit.

I've been chatting about it on the UK forum as well and I'm starting to think I will need the ignition map capabilities? I've put an RS engine into my R after blowing the clutch basket at Phillip Island and trashing the old one. I was hoping for a simple way to get it going and fuelling right for some testing before I decide what to do in the longer term.

Haha I would if I was confident I could race the Pani without issues such as noise etc. The Pani was 10-15mph down on the main straight at Spa because I had to use a baffle whereas the BMW is quiet enough to run full power no problem. Trying to race it in the UK is likely to be a right hassle but I do intend to get it race legal and take it along to see how things go. If it does turn out to be ok then I may end up racing it seriously.

I have sold my 959 rapidbike to go on an 899

I’ve uploaded the 899 base map onto the unit ready - is that all that is required?

I think if it were going on a different make of bike it would need a reflash but is this the case switching between panigale models?

Thanks

Hey bikers.
I'm sorry to come to your Ducati forum because I ride in KTM 1290GT.
But I have a RapidBike EVO case and I can hardly find users on KTM.
You seem to many to use it here.

I removed the catalyst, I put an Akra exhaust, and a Rottweiler performance airbox.

I found maps with the same configuration as mine, but to power commander 5....
I copied pasted the Dynojet values in the RapidBike.
It's working. But I haven't dared to inject it yet.

Has anyone tried it before?
What difference could it have between the PC5 and RB to make it not work?

Also, can one use a RACING map on the EVO, just the injection, not the ignition? Because there is a map full Akrapovic but for Racing..

I hope I didn't disturb you, thank you and good ride :)
