I have personally used Goo Gone for this type of issue... That or Bug and Tar Remover (I believe it was Turtle Wax brand, but I cannot remember)

Degreaser works well too, just on a rag and wipe...

Personally, I would hit some heat to it first and try to roll off as much as I could before hitting cleaners. It limits the amount of rubbing required and that is what can lead to scuffing and scratching. All of what you do, will easily be polished up with a nice carnuba wax afterwards.

Gunny, you got a beautiful ride... just make sure you take your time with this clean up job and let patience be the virtue for this job.

lay a rag over it and soak it in wd40. let it sit.
then take another soaked rag and rub piece by piece while flushing it with wd40.

make sure you catch it underneath.

A little heat goes a long way too (as it re-activates the glue) and also lets you avoid prolonged attack from the chemical you use by speeding up the entire process.

As one user said, you could probably clean the mess with a little oil but remember to clean the the surface before re-applying the new tank pad.

This ^^^. Take a blow dryer, and heat the adhesive.

I often use Kerosene for such things. I regularly use it on my rear wheel and left muffler.

Haven't tried it on red Ducati paint yet.

mine works great, looks great, matches da carbon and prevents my 2" cock from scratching the tank....

Vast....Are you on drugs ?

Edit I just saw your post about Cocaine so I guess that answers my question. You are one funny guy.

If you know a Nurse or Doctor, ask for a product called REMOVE, it is used for extremely sticky plasters, bandages, strapping etc, it works wonders, and gentle on the skin, so really safe on paint work. Have used this product before.

Cheers Carl

Plexus plastic cleaner is worth a shot - seems to remove thick chain fling and other gunk well. I bought a 12pk case of it on Amazon for 50% off.

I have been using Klean-Strip Aircraft Decal and Adhesive Remover and SEM Solve. Both are products professionals use and are available at most automotive stores.

Oh my GOD....

I'm surprised we are all alive after reading what people rub on their tant, lol tank..

Gunny,
I recommend a wide aproch,

Wd40 ,,, it has worked in the past
Olive oil ,, it works well to lift stickers and lub parts, ( I used on the termignoni assembly and on start up it sells like a cooking show)
Plexas,,, spray on and it may lift
Pledge,, same ingredients

Olive oil and baking soda will work, but I have not tested on this paint and would not like to tell you do it..

Do not use !!!!!!!!
Gas, petrol, kerosene, paint thinner, stripper,

And be extremely carful with
Sticker remover, goo gone, final remover..

The Ducati paint is so soft I an afraid to sneeze while riding
