If you're after a natural product, I highly recommend Eucalyptus Oil for removing the adhesive residue.

Natural Home Cleaning

^ there's a short section on Adhesive Labels and Bandages. Great for around the house too.
 
Something natural that you can try to safely remove the stubborn adhesive is Eucalyptus Oil.

It is great for all surfaces and materials, painted or not.

Dampen a soft cloth and pat the area down before working the glue away.
