mark you live in nyc?

Love it, but what is odd is that my R1, R6 and Busa cost more to insure because its in the top 10 stolen motorcycle in SoCal.

yes vast i live in staten island.

scrapper x. here is why the insurance on those bikes are so expensive. i know cause i was getting a r1 before the pani and the insurance was double. my agent for statefarm actually told me the truth.
a bike like the R1 cbr etc there are many of them. so if 10000 of them are insured by a company 5k of them are totaled a year. the ducati doesnt have as many out there which in turn makes them less accident prone. this is the dumbest thing i have ever heard but its true. not just internet true. ill take it though

I heard another SF say they insurance is higher because it IS an exotic. They're inconsistent, period.

fyi: staten island is not nyc; it's staten island, ny. and the rates are different there.

Actually staten island *IS* NYC. .. The rates might be different between staten island and MANHATTAN which is what you might be trying to convey - but saying staten island isn't NYC is factually incorrect - and surprising from someone who lists there home as NYC. . ..

These guys do have great rates..... Unfortunately not available in Tx :(

How's it make you feel to get a worse rate than a single 26 y/o who lives in the 4th highest property crime riddled city in the US?

;)

Its sooo wrong in sooo many ways.... Baffled is my overarching feeling...

I have Allstate now and changed from Progressive which was >$4K/yr for just the 1199. Almost clean record, I have 1 speeding ticket left over from my M3. :)

I have a multi-policy discount with house, cars and 3 bikes. I pay $665/yr for the 1199 with full-coverage and $500 deductible. Liability and underinsured 100/300/100. $484/yr for MTS.

i guess i consider NYC = Manhattan...guess i need to update :D

and to think, i actually grew up in the city = manhattan......makes sense that i wouldn't know...

Im with Geico too, $696/year. They're okay with untimed events, regardless of where they are.

Im 26, and have low limits and high deductibles.

yes vast i live in staten island.

there are five boroughs to nyc, manhatten queens staten island brooklyn and the bronx.

staten island per capita is the richest borough in the city. we vote for nyc mayor and pay ny city taxes. we have nypd fdny sanitation all from the city and mta service. i am pretty sure staten island is part of nyc. The reason my rates are high is because i am in the city, not long island or westchester which are much cheaper. believe me i would much rather not be part of the city but unfortunately i am.

do i live in manhatten absolutely not nor do i want to but i am still considered NYC . also if you were to write me a letter you could but city ny state ny and i would get it or you could put staten island ny. just like if you live in queens you could put ny ny and the zip or queens ny and the zip.
