Full coverage $5500 a year with geico and that's the cheapest!!! Well state farm said 1300 but they refuse to carry me based on a ticket of 3.5 years ago they say 5 yrs for ticket to clear record with them only..... I'm 25 years old.... Clean record- as of now

Mark - look at Riders out of NJ. I don't think they cover track days, but you should be able to shave that quote down a ton. We're about the same age with the same record and I am paying about $750 per year for full coverage (2 bikes - one a Pani) with 250/500/100 limits.

capt i tried riders state farm was cheaper. your forgetting the nyc premium. The reason i started shopping around is state farm doesnt cover track days untimed.

from the responses i am not to bad at 880 for full coverage and it wont be going up that much by adding the hp4

Cool.. I am thinking about looking at Foremost too since I want untimed track day coverage, but haven't done anything with it yet.

Definitely have to factor in insurance and maintenance costs when getting into a Duc, no doubt! They rather sum up to half of the ownership costs or more if used as a daily rider.

My driving record is terrible though... No crashes or DUI's just old speeding tickets.

wow, gotta remember your region also plays into the price.

I have 250/500/100 coverage with a $100/$500 comp/collision deductable. I pay $420 a year for the Tricolore. I just turned 40, but that's what I've paid since I bought it last year. I do have all my insurance through state farm. and have zero tickets and above average credit.

For veterans

Those of you who are Veterans, I would HIGHLY recommend giving USAA a call. I use them for both my car and bike. 24 years old, I have about 3 points on my record now. Used to have 8  Calmed down a bit  But I pay about $340 for the 6 month policy for full coverage on the base model Ducati 1199. $500 deductible. I think my coverage is 25/50/25 for damage and liability. Had a lowside last month and they took very good care of me! I didn't even have to take it to a shop to get my parts approved, when the adjuster came I told him I used to repair $1.6 million howitzers overseas... here is an OEM parts list (part number, nomenclature and price) they approved it and I saved lots of money since I did the work myself, matter of fact, I made an extra $2000 on the deal ;)

I used to have State Farm when I had my 848 when I was 21-22? I called USAA but they said they did not have motorcycle insurance of their own, they partnered through Progressive (wanted $8000 a year!!!) State Farm wanted $2000 a year, choice was obvious. Then I lowsided my 848 the first time (cosmetic damage only) and they dropped my policy based on that ONE accident  I called USAA back up and then they apparently changed their mind and said "Oh no! idk who you talked to but in Michigan we have our own motorcycle insurance!" Never looked back since. IMPORTANT: For USAA each state either partners with Progressive or USAA has their own motorcycle insurance. Check to see which one you fall under.

USAA, dropped mc coverage some years ago unless you had a policy in force at the time. At least in GA. They have a special deal with progressive, but it wasn't much of a price break and I went with foremost after a few years of progressive and geico.

USAA, was superb for mc coverage I wish they'd bring it back. Have my house, car and life insurance with them.

I just booked an R and was trying to come up with a quote and the breakdown is as follows from GEICO

Bodily Injury - $100000/$300000
Property Damage - $50000
Medical Payments - $5000
Uninsured Motorist - $100000
Underinsured Motorist - $100000
Comprehensive - $1000 deductible
Collision - $1000 deductible
Towing - Accepted
Accessory coverage - upto $3500

Total for 12 months - $1100

I live in Minneapolis btw so maybe other areas would differ but I think this is a good quote IMO from GEICO.. Progressive is like $3000 odd for just 1 bike with similar options

helps to identify which insurer. . . apparently we only know its not progressive. . .

Has anyone tried dairlyand? They were actually slightly cheaper than foremost. When I shopped to possibly change earlier this year.
