so if any of you florida, tx or virgina guys (actually any red constitution gun loving liberal free state) know some company or firm paying 6 figures let me know i would move in a second.

fyi: staten island is not nyc; it's staten island, ny. and the rates are different there.

there are five boroughs to nyc, manhatten queens staten island brooklyn and the bronx.

staten island per capita is the richest borough in the city. we vote for nyc mayor and pay ny city taxes. we have nypd fdny sanitation all from the city and mta service. i am pretty sure staten island is part of nyc. The reason my rates are high is because i am in the city, not long island or westchester which are much cheaper. believe me i would much rather not be part of the city but unfortunately i am.

do i live in manhatten absolutely not nor do i want to but i am still considered NYC . also if you were to write me a letter you could but city ny state ny and i would get it or you could put staten island ny. just like if you live in queens you could put ny ny and the zip or queens ny and the zip.

mark - i know that (as I posted it originally), but you might need to educate the people in your own city first - haha (picking on vast here).

Just wondering if you guys have other vehicles you are also insuring?

I've been with State Farm for 23 years (yah, I know I'm supposed to shop it every year, but they've been good..)

Anyway, even when I was in college with state farm with a Toyota P/U as my main ride, they insured my motorcycles almost as a courtesy. Seems like it was around $25/month back then (ie: my 1999 YZF1000.)

Many many years later I'm pretty sure my 1199 is something like $35/month to insure...

Disclaimer: Both mine & Wife's cars are insured thru State Farm...

yes - when you have multiple things, they can give discounts on certain things and liability/etc starts to get murky between what/where/how much, etc .. . you can't quote a price when its tied into the house, car, etc because they might be bundling the liability in with the car and not the motorcycle, etc. ..

i have my bike through state farm pay 880 a year and had to pull teeth to get it cause they wanted my car too which is insured by geico. they couldnt come withing 450 bucks of geico so i have 2 insurance companies.

I am 27 years old Clean record, Home owner and have Geico. My 2 vehicles covered along with 8 years of motorcycle riding exp and i pay $864 a yr ( $72 a month ) in Ga. part of the reason i went with the Pani was the ins was so cheap.. the same year on a Jap bike would have been $189 a month for a liter bike.

I have another M/C that I insure with my current provider. My Triumph runs about $160/yr. The Pani is $1100 for the same coverage from the same company.

(And I won't use State Farm. Serious disagreement with them about 20 years ago. They owe me for a claim that they refused to pay. Not going to pay them any more premiums so they can not pay a claim again...)

It's just a roll of the dice. Geico quoted me $1400. I'm also in GA, 30+ yrs riding (with no claims), 61 y/o. Homeowner. Go figure....

wow!!! could never guess that Panigale insurance is so OUTRAGEOUS expensive.(for most part)...

I just called AAA Socal to get a quote and got the following:

Bodily injury: 25K/50K
Property: 25K
Comp: 100 deductible
Collision: $100 deductible
Uninsured motorist: No deductible
Uninsured motorist Bodily: 25K
Untimed track days - Covered

$689 for the year which includes unlimited miles towing on the motorcycle.

My currenty coverage is with State Farm (who have been great to me with a previous claim) but my currenty comp/collision deductibles are $500 and I pay $920 a year and they don't cover track days. I will definitely be switching come October when my policy is over. 34yrs no points/accidents, 10yrs riding experience.

You are putting yourself at serious risk carrying that low of insurance in a city with a high incident rate and idiots driving around with state minimums. One visit to the ER is well over 25k. Minimum I would suggest would be 100/300 uninsured/underinsured. Don't ask me how I know. Protect yourself.
