After reading ProductReview.com.au, I'm not sure who to trust. Guess you don't know how good you insurance is until you make a claim!!!

Went right through the PDS and the cover looks good. Switched from swann and saved $600!

Thanks Wilkson :D

Just going through insurance quotes for my 1299 S.

Swann = $1,793 p.a.
Beyond Bank = $1,187 p.a.
Lumleys = $983 p.a.

I'll go with Lumleys. And, as a bonus, I'll get an additional multi-policy discount for the fact that I have a car with them also.

My 1199 S from 2012 has come up again and this time thanks to the tip from Wilkson (thanks mate) I am going to go with Lumleys. Went from $924 with QBE down to $491 so a good saving. The agreed value is a bit less but I can live with that.

I can put the money to those forged gold magnesium wheels I am lusting after.

Such differences in pricing

Collect my 1299S next week and starting looking on this forum for all sorts of reasons and I came across this thread under the Australia tab. I'm currently with Famous on my Fireblade which I am trying to sell and the price for that it's really good. So I decided to call Lumleys and get a quote. Came in just over $1100 for full cover which i think is rather good considering the price of the bike. But what amazes me is some of the quoted prices members on this forum are quoting they can get their insurance for !!! How does someone insure a 2015 1299S for under a grand ???

I believe it is to do with your age and previous claim history, I switched last year from QBE at $1300-00 a year for my 1199S and got it at about $600-00 from memory, I'm mid forties with no claims on vehicles, car or bike.

Ok that's fair enough I am mid 30s with no claims but you more experienced with life riders certainly get a great deal compaired to us only slightly younger riders !!!!

It also has a bit to do with where you have it garaged. I'm in the hinterland behind the Sunny Coast so pretty quiet area.

Cheers

Lumleys just changed their policies, wont insure people under 30 and wont insure if you use it more than 2-3 times a week, so I'm screwed, guess ill try beyond bank.

Just gave Lumley's a call, $1300 for me!! that's $400 more than IMR.

40year old, 3 tickets in the five years, locked garage, one no fault claim in five years.....

I took out a policy with Lumleys about 6 months ago, I pay $650 a year for my 13' 1199 S. I'm 29... I'll be a couple of months shy of 30 when my policy comes up for renewal and I won't be happy if they don't renew based on the fact I'm under 30.

On another note, I saved nearly 2k a year switching to Lumelys. My QBE policy was 26xx a year. Very happy with the savings. I should also add my policy is their 2/3 days a week deal, although I'd be lucky if I use my bike 2/3 times a month at the moment.

Just had my renewal come up and it is under $500-00, pretty happy about that, I'm on the same as you guys, only ridden a couple of times a week and in a locked garage. I haven't had to make a claim but will be interesting to see what they pay for if I do.

it's got me ...... why they quoted $1300 for me....

I'll dig my quote out and get back to you mate, I can't see why there would be so much difference between us.

Just checked my payment, was $418-00 for the year, I will get back to you Ruley with the details, I know that there is no gear on this insurance, would need new helmet etc. but that would not be a majour concern.

All good mate,

The price they gave me is the price they gave me, maybe they now "met the market" now with there pricing....maybe they don't like speeding tickets...maybe down town Karana Downs is a bad area for insurance, which it very much doubt but you never know.
