Kawasaki's H2 Superbike

 I must have missed something... this bike is for track only, correct? I don't see any headlights on it.

You did miss something. There are two versions. The 300 hp version is track only and the lesser version will be a road bike. :p

While were all hating wondering how the hell this bike could ever be track ridden heres a video of the damn thing looking very comfy on the track. Haha

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wGPqIv8ppqY

I'm surprised we didn't see any high sides - the footage must be heavily doctored. What I found particularly alarming from this video is that approximately eighty percent of the footage shows the bike performing fairly aggressive cornering. Doesn't Kawasaki know that this bike appeals to the guy who wants to say he has the most powerful production bike in the world and only rides in a straight line? Clearly the production and marketing departments need to get on the same page. ; )

I dont know man. Its obvious u can track ride it.

Its market is rich dudes who want a motogp like powered bike? Lol

You must of also noticed that no track times were posted

I think it would be great if they had one of their riders on a zx10 and riding the h2 back to back on the same track so we can actually see how good this bike is, then maybe we can believe the hype.

I was just be facetious. Friendly jab at reganc and the community who believe this bike will be nothing more than a one-trick pony.

Hah, well, yes I did notice that. I agree that seeing the H2 and ZX10R riding back to back would be pretty informative. To be completely honest, judging from this video, the bike's transitioning looks a bit slower than the ZX10, and it looks like it's fighting some understeer mid turn.

Before this bike was unveiled, I theorized the new H2 would incorporate something close to a 70/30 ratio between a ZX10 and a ZX14. It looks like this may be on target, and if that is the case, one need look no further than the Ducati GP14's performance to see that top power while sacrificing manueverability is not an optimal combination for setting lap records - but it should at least have some composure when cornering, and I'm betting it will be a lot of fun on both the street and the track.

i am looking forward to a track shootout by some magazine:

1199SL vs. H2 vs. SUPER HP4

3 bikes on three different tracks

that'd be it.

i'd even volunteer as rider ;)

Interesting comparison shots to give an idea of just how compact the bike is. Top picture is Sykes' WSBK ZX10R, and the bottom is of course the H2R.

He looks more stretched out on the H2R in comparison. Can tell if that would be comfortable. Thamks for the pics Duck41

I am as well, but I expect Honda - and possibly Yamaha - to enter this fight before all is said and done. The next 5-10 years is going to be an incredibly exciting time for sportbike riders.

No problem at all.

I agree about him appearing more stretched out. Both his hands and feet seem to be placed lower, his back is more linear, and his arms seem to be extended further forward as indicated by his elbow being closer to 90 degrees.

That may not necessarily be true. Take a closer look at the zx10 photo n his seat positioning. He still has a few inches he could move back on the seat whereas on the h2r, it appears to be that he's as far back as he can go.

Good point.

before they get banned (too dangerous) and/or the streets / traffic / transportation will be all automated and interconnected and bikes won't fit in any more ....

BTW - kawasaki got 100% of my attention for this but also 100% of disagreement for the marketing scheme and my immediate loss of any intent to purchase a bike from them in the future. not even a 250 for racing.

Phil, what specifically has bothered you in regards to the marketing used?

I'm impatient.

The fact that they made a big deal out of it.
Yeah, it's fast strong awesome superb blahbla ugly...

Just release it
And don't play games.

Kindergarten ...

They've taken a page out of Ducati's book. Didn't they do the same .... with the SL?

Maybe you should never buy another Ducati again.....using your current logic of course.
