The whole industry is building bikes where the cost to repair, say a blown engine, ends up with the bike being parted. Weird business model IMHO.MV getting cut loose like Eberflus.

The only sure way to lower costs is to lay off employees and shutter facilities. They will have to get the banks (who they owe the most money to) to restructure their debt. They'll have to sell off assets and apparently, they've already axed most of the board. It was a really bad decision to buy additional brands and diversify at the end of the pandemic when about every staples corporation decided to raise prices to grab the money the western governments pumped into their various economies. If KTM dumps prices substantially to get rid of existing inventory they'll hurt sales and profitability going forward. That being said the Austrian government has no choice but to prop them up somehow. If you've read the history of Ducati then you know how many times the Italian government propped up Ducati in the past.
