ok so when the 2015 s1000rr came out people were wow the hp4 people will be pissed. i was like no because thats the bike i wanted in the color scheme i wanted with all the goodies i wanted. not only that nobody knows how much the 2015 s1000rr will be. bottom line you cant get the hp4 anymore.

now this

New 2015 Ducati 1299 Panigale Is A 205-HP Supercomputer

so 2014 r owners have to be really pissed, i mean the bike is the same exact thing. 2014 base and s owners have to be pissed.

so now that ducati just crushed 1199 resale value and the sl is now basically a paint job. hmmmmm

cant wait to see the responses to this ;)

Except there is probably a price hike and the SL has WAY more with it than the 15 R' is coming with, such as Magnesium sub-frame, magnesium wheels, carbon bodywork etc.

SL is still more bike than the new R... not sure why the comment around that... very special bike. Will they still get 65K from the new ones sitting on the dealers, I don't know, but that does not changes the special bike that it is with all the light weight components not present in any of the other bikes.

I think moral of the story is:

Be happy and enjoy the bike you bought. There will always be a better model coming out around the corner. Just get out there ride!

Unless you don't mind losing your ... on resale and like chasing the next best thing...

Exactly, I reckon my bike will be worth about 6 grand at best when Iv'e done with it....

im waiting on 2045 9999cc wheeless clutchess floating rocket ducati

oh, you mean the one where you can sit on and don't have to steer yourself anymore? with thought-route-input and g-force utilization level adjustment? of course only rideable after checking with your road fee credit line and approved absence request out of your district

true and coming to a life near you sooner than you think. :D

Because Mark:
1) Owns an S1000RR, but
2) Spends all his days trying to convince 1199 owners THEY made the wrong decision,

Me thinks
1) HE made the wrong decision
2) Is trying to convince himself he made the right one.

Change the name and the same story is told of all trolls.

I think the big question is: how on earth do you sell/make a case for a 899 now IF you can buy a 1199 for similar money???

Being one of the very first people to own a 1199S on the planet, this is a kick to the balls BUT doesn't make me like my bike any less...

I went into my purchase wanting to own my 1199S for ever and hand it down to my son and it be 1 of many in a collection...I AM happy to see a revised exhaust option that I "hope" I can use for my bike ;)

You already can.... :)

No double talk here. I liked the hp4 when it released and would still buy one today. But the 1199/1299 is the sexiest bike ever made to me. I will have both in my garage one day. The 1299s first though.
