It'd be cool if Ducati didn't completely forget about us owners with the Electronic Ohlins and offer a retrofit kit. I doubt it, but I was always intrigued with a suspension that constantly adapts to the road (for comfort AND all out performance)...

Here's to wishful thinking - LOL

LOL,

Mark, you can replace your s1000 with the new duc next year.....

Because Mark:
1) Owns an S1000RR, but
2) Spends all his days trying to convince 1199 owners THEY made the wrong decision,

Me thinks
1) HE made the wrong decision
2) Is trying to convince himself he made the right one.

Change the name and the same story is told of all trolls.

I think a lot will come down to pricing - as the new electronics seem to be a huge upgrade. I personally don't need more power (did I just say that that?) but like the idea of improved electronics.

If they 2015 R is less than $35,000 I might bite and sell the Tri.....providing I could get $$$.

Cheers!

Pricing is already out:

1299 - $19,295 MSRP
1299S - $24,995 MSRP
Panigale R - $33,995 MSRP

1299 and 1299 S in RED only to start with.

From another thread...

all are great bikes, but let's be honest, how many of us here can push these bikes to the extreme to really get the benefit of all the changes that are being developed? For what I see, a regular rider like myself who rides the street and an occasional track day would not be able to enjoy all a base 1199 has... I can't imagine riding the SL or the 1299! just my 2cents.

That's pretty true. IMHO, the 1199 base + ABS was plenty of bike.

Is that going to be the case with the new 1299? Is that a large improvement over a base 1199 + ABS? Would an upgrade be justified?? Anti-Hero, Jarel?

actually i own the hp4 AND the 1199 and the only mistake made was the 1199.

funny the answers are the same that i said. why buy the iPhone 6 the iPhone 7 will be out.

keep the tri its the only 1199 that stands out (not counting the SL) every other bike is red. you see them all over. to this day i have only seen 1 tri on the road. that was gunnys bike and i was riding with him.

I didn't buy my bike as an "investment" so the 1299 is cool, but doesn't really affect me much for another 5 years until I can possibly afford to buy another bike.

Unless Ducati decides to make an 1199/1299 based streetfighter, then I'm screwed and may try to trade in my 1199 base for one :)

you serious dude this is my first and without a doubt last ducati. however i will always be on this forum because there are new people that need to know the truth .

C'mon buddy.....your truth is not the same for all others on here and is very biased based on your experience. I haven't had all the issues you've had so my experience is much different. More of a happy place.:D

Are you referring to the "truth" that you hate a bike but refuse to sell it and move on? I don't think anyone here cares.

i was just thinking that. if he hates the duc so much why not sell it and move on?....guess its not that bad :D

Mark, after your extreme hatred for all things Ducati, you STILL own an 1199? That's awesome.

Majority of us buyers don't go into a Ducati or any dealer and try n justify a purchase decision based on their ability to use the bike to its max capability. Visual appeal is probably the biggest reason people make a purchase. I don't care if I had a motogp replica type of motorcycle that was affordable. If it was aesthetically pleasing, I certainly wouldn't say to myself "man, there's no reason for me to buy this affordable motogp replica bike because I can't use it to its capabilities." Hopefully people buy a bike and enjoy it to the best of their own abilities, regardless what the bike has more in store.

B you know what my real problem is. its the fact that most on here not all will never admit any problem. always an excuse for the brand that could care less about you as a consumer. (most brands don't). the blind loyalty is insane. knock on wood all the bugs are out of my bike. i enjoy riding it and i think after next season the 1199 will go on the track. i will sell the ninja. i would love to track the hp4 but god forbid something happens i can't get another one. 1199 i can get really cheap.

sorry to the 899 guys you guys just took it big time.

yea too much of hit to sell it. i got suckered in on the good looks. moded my bike like crazy now I'm stuck.

maybe things will get better cause audi owns them who knows.

next thing i will read is the scrambler isn't cheap and its a beautiful bike.
