ok. but compared to the last R1s, which IMHO nailed it design wise, this is kind of a "futuristic" design approach... not my cup of tea... and not out to win a red dot design award

If we are talking about this, I don't think it's that bad. Actually, IMHO, it comes after the Pani, look wise:

Not even close to the looks of the Pani! But, it does come after the looks of the HP4 in terms of ugliness.

if you can dream it, you can do it !

might take as much as 10000 hours track time, but it's not impossible...

although lot of CF, it does still look impressively cheap and designed by some stupid piano playing manager

Yeah, the New R1 and the H2 look terrible. And the S1000RR is as bad if not worse looking than before.

Oh well, just making it that much easier to buy the Panigale! :)

I agree with you, the profile and in particular the tail are based on the pani. Then they screw it up when trying to disguise it with their own original features

Looks like Michael Bay productions crew from Transformers designed it...and not in a good way...

ALL I can say is WSBK is gonna be ....... nuts

I would rather have the 2015 201bhp Aprilia RSV4 than the Yamaha...

And shouldn't it be a law that if you're exhaust looks so ...... (I'm talking underside of the new R1, looks like a couple boxes and sphere's welded together) that it has to be covered by body work???

watch the video of the release and then read again what you posted ;)

to sum it up:
-yamaha brought out a heavy, ugly turd
-kawasaki did the same, with a false promise of 300 HP for the masses, the regular turd will only have as much as the competition
-honda brought a production racer for over 100 grand and are ashamed to give out wieight and performance data
-bmw is now the cheapest of the 200 HP club, but not the prettiest
-panigale is still the prettiest, lightest and up in the HP club, on par with electronics and the advantage of >2 years of experience in the field now, so BMW is losing that advantage

great times if you're in the market and if you have taste :D

You left out the Aprilia :)

Just reading this thread ...

Oh being judgemental/projecting judgement on another ... the strongest VICE of all.

I think moral of the story is:

Be happy and enjoy the bike you bought. There will always be a better model coming out around the corner. Just get out there ride!

Unless you don't mind losing your ... on resale and like chasing the next best thing...

+1

I purchased my bike to enjoy it to the fullest, with no regard of "when I'm going to get rid of it and how much can I get for it" I'm not sure of how many of us have max out the potential of the bikes we currently own:D
