Same here, I'm soon to be on fairing lower no.3!

Think after the next one they're going to have to look at swapping out the header tube to see if that sorts it.

No need to swap any exhaust tube. All you need is to stand the fairing off the pipe mountings. If there is no contact, it won't melt. Insulate the back side of the fairing where its touching the pipe with foil heat reflect tape, same stuff they use to protect hoses and electrical wiring in cars off of the headers. I stood the rear fairing screw area off the bike by 3 mm using a rubber washer. Brake pedal doesn't rub and its off the pipes. No issues.

I used a high-temp silicon adhesive pad on the fairing where it contacts the rubber stopper.

One of the worst welds I have seen on anything.

Take the exhaust off you will be shocked!!
My 10 year old nephew is slated to get a job at ducati after I showed the factory Forman how well he wields horse shoes together..

Omg rush job, and the termignoni has problems also it is very rough

I plan on gutting mine this week and doing touch ups

Not 100% sure as I had my tape left over from 13 years ago when I was working on my supercharged Camaro headers. I did a search and it looks like Thermaflect Tape (trade name). It is multi layered adhesive-fabric-foil-acetate. I believe the acetate blew off in the wind but all other layers holding well. It is freaking hot right by the spring on the exhaust and that is where I lined my fairing, the thin fairing section back and around the bulge in the fairing. It is definitely holding up. I have 1mm gap between that spring weld joint and the fairing by way of washer placed on the fairing screw (rearmost). The rubber standoff that came with the bike is not enough to keep the fairing off the exhaust. I stood it off more with the rubber washer made from fuel line and the fairing is out more now but does not contact the brake pedal lever. Hope this helps, I have no worries about fairing melting anymore but when I take in for service I need to inform of the extra part so that they don't muck up the re-install. I need to bond the standoff rubber washer to the fairing so that it stays there when removing fairing. I kinda wish the fairing design and assembly was more robust, seems like a fragile part of the bike that can withstand reinforcing on multiple points including mounting points. Nonetheless, the fairings are beautiful and does the job so no real complaints here.

DEI cool shield
It's 12$ a square foot

I should start selling the kit

I made a jig for all 4 fairings, seat bottom, tank back, ecu bottom, and termignoni heat shield

I should mass produce for sale

I have a 13 MY. Initially I had the bigger rubber grommet fitted and it turns out that this is for use with one of the other exhaust systems only and not the standard ones. My new dealer has now re-welded the spring hanger further round the bottom of the pipe therefore moving it miles away from the fairing, new piece of fairing now fitted and all is good.

It is not just the weld that is burning your fairing, your brake pedal is also rubbing.

Ahh the smell of burning plastic in the morning...afternoon, i mean all the time! Mine has the same issue. My dealer supposedly used some spacer to help but i constantly smell melting plastic when ever i ride. I will be getting a new faring soon. i was told by the dealer to let it get a little worse before i have it replaced.

Not likely without modification, I am on my third fairing, 2nd mid-pipe

I also noticed earlier this afternoon that mine is melting in the same spot on my 2014 Panigale S. I was already bringing the bike into the dealer Monday morning for its first service but I'm pretty surprised to see the fairing is already starting to melt, I mean the bike only has 621 miles on it. Hopefully my dealer has seen this before and knows of some sort of fix for it.

Heat tape on fairing only delays the burn albeit a long time. Im at 7.5 k miles and seeing a little discolor on the rear edge of the slot.

This is exactly what I notice as well. Over time (several thousand miles for me) the exhaust will melt/burn through the tape and start to effect the plastic again. I now change out the heat tape with every oil change.

I used a high-temp silicon adhesive pad on the fairing where it contacts the rubber stopper.

Do you have a link or name of the product you're using? I'd like to give it a shot to see if its better in the long run vs. heat tape. When I search for "high temp silicon adhesive pad" I get a lot of links related to breast implants.

The issue is not that it is happening with only 621 miles....the problem is that you have a 2014 bike and they still can't get the exhaust done correctly to avoid the melting of the fairing.... :(

The good is that Ducati continues to replace them under warranty....

Here are a couple of pictures of my repositioned spring hanger. You can now see that there is a definite gap between the fairing and the hanger. You can also see where the hanger used to 'live'. Ducati should get on board with this and they would save themselves a fortune by not having to replace customers fairing every two minutes.;) Please excuse the dirt on the faring, it's in need of a good wash!!

Damn, that looks really good and 'simple'. Guess my next purchase is going to be a torch.

If you all never hear from me again, there was probably an explosion involved.
