and craigslist is doing his not so successful Andy Kaufman forum routine. it's okay...

.... You still don't get it I guess. Again, the point is, by him doing that it hides other threads (interesting) that is relevant (current) and threads I would like to read. Instead, there is 2 pages of old threads like spy shot of first Panigale.

I get it. And yes, there was a day or two that a bunch of his threads took up most of page one. But that did not last, and will not last if people ignore him. What I get is that there are other ways to deal with the issue. I've seen this many times. He'll go away completely if and when he realizes that he is being totally ignored. Or maybe he'll clean up his act and become a contributing member. I was asked to leave this forum before I bought my bike because I had the audacity to state my opinion on the heat issue because all I had done was test ride a bike, and did not own one yet. Maybe the moderators should have banned me for having an opinion without owning a bike -do you think? (yes, I realize I'm over stating it to make a point).

I get that there is good and bad to increasing the moderating of the forum. There is seldom any free lunch in this world. I have over 25,000 posts on the Corvette forum over the past 12 years. For a long time they were seriously over moderated. They were over moderated to the point where (drum roll please) some folks decided to start another Corvette forum. Sound familiar?

I'm open minded to all the comments being made. I just hope it's a two way street.

Its definitely a 2 way street and whomever asked you to leave here due to your initial post was narrow minded and quick to judge..But...CL is the sort of issue that a moderator (Duc) would/should zap immediately and stop any feeling that we are quite simply an irrelevant bunch... As stated the idea of moderation of this forum does not come easy to me but many friends have pointed out that our forum is becoming a laughing stock and given the generally high quality of posts/posters on here I think that's a shame...

My Suggestion

I think the membership should submit names for mods to Duc and he should post a poll up where people can vote for them 3 times so three can be selected. I forget the number of choices polls can have, anyone recall?

This way he is absolved from making this decision and the membership can make this choice for him. Trouble is getting him to answer anyone here at all to do something like this! :D

Lol...You really think we can gain a consensus here???:D

He already nominated mods but nothing happened.

Well lets view this as a Coup D'etat then....lol

I think someone might have suggested this, but how about if we have them add an "Un-Thanks" option for threads. When someone gets a certain number of Un Thanks they automatically get a week in banned camp? That way we all get to be moderators, but nobody has to do it as a full time job.

Actually he is a good guy on the forum and I like him. In retrospect, I understand what it's like for forum members get tired of an issue getting beat to death and a new guy comes on and has an opinion. I could have been a little abrasive at the time. I'm not sure, but I think I'm capable

We all have our moments.... Glad you decided to stay... This place is still the best knowledge base for the 1199 IMHO... and its never dull either :D
