Motomummy and Akrapovic

Yeah I have never had a problem with mm, I always talked to them over the phone when putting in orders for my r1 and they were great.

I wonder if akra will offer slip ons.

$4000 for an exhaust? You clowns should have just got an R...warranty approved too. :D

+1

IMHO $4K is a bit much for an exhaust:eek: You can get slips for less than half of that and use the rest to "bling" up ur bike with CF or such and still be just as fast on the street as the person that dropped 4k. And off the street, I still doubt anyone here on this forum has the skill and talent to ride the bike to its full potential with just stock cans otherwise they'd have sponsors giving them free $4k exhausts and much more so that they can race professionally. That being said, if you got the loot and $ is not a thing to you then to each there own. I just can't justify it for myself.

akra strongly relies on hobby racers with deep pockets by helping them getting the last tenths of seconds down on the track.
and on starbucks.

I asked that along with their fuel/tuning recommendations. The effort for them to come up with this pipe is a bit more complicated then the other options. A lot more parts involved, tooling to make those, etc. These mufflers are different from anything they have ever made.

Just curious - what were their fueling/tuning recommendations ? I think I know, but wanted to get another data point.

Ive bought from MM before in my GSXR days. They seem like great people, and not one bit shady - If that helps.

how can you say 4k is a bit much for an exhaust when you bought the 1199 to begin with so many liter bikes for cheaper some like the bwm that are faster. then saying no one needs or can use more power you purchased a bike with 195 hp again your already well over the top for a street bike. its just seems a little to much pot calling the kettle black. and if you say you just bought the bike for looks all the full systems look pretty good ar, ak, and termi not so much comp werks (just my opinion) .

Agree. Ducati buyers calling out other's 'bad value propositions' is certainly pot-kettle-black.

That's the point, you already paid extra for extra performance...and if you wanted even MORE performance, get just a damn R, which comes with a warranty.

If the R was available when I purchased my Tricolore and extras I would have purchased the R.

It wasn't. My bike and extras set me back $48000 so the price would have been the same!

I will now get the 2015/16 R instead. Can't wait for the development of parts and performance on that one!

Right now it's just the swing arm adjustments, Rods, Fly wheel and 500rpm limit that I'm missing.

Not that much for my ability/ skill level really! :D

and people with R's are still modding. you dont lose your warranty because you mod either not here at least. they have to prove that part caused the problem.

Termis come with the upmap...if anything goes wrong there you take it to your dealer and it gets looked at for free. If anything goes wrong with your a-krap-ovic and power commando, good luck with that.

My service guy said it doesn't matter what exhaust I put on, warranty still holds. (IMDO)

Not what I'm saying. I'm not talking about the overall warranty with the bike. I'm talking about the warranty on your $4,000 exhaust and power commander. The power commander is also changing things, if anything goes wrong related to it, it's not covered. If your akrapovic can starts melting your fairing, the dealer will be laughing at you in their heads as they start the clock.

They are like anything else, you buy them through the dealer, they will handle it all. If you purchased them outside, i.e., all the add ons, levers, rearsets, suspension, wheels (CF failures from rippled pavement) - you are on your own dealing with those manufactures. So I don't see the big deal here

Read the last part after the edit...considering people have been having issues with melted fairings, I'd personally hate to buy a $4,000 exhaust only to be told by the dealer that I'm SOL that my fairing melted and have to spend out of pocket for replacement.
