motoxpricambi.com fairings…a cautionary tale

perhaps they have also read the thread where someone on this forum complained, got their money back and then subsequently fitted the item before looking to sell it ....all on here?

Perhaps they should look at that thread and not have ...... products and customer service. And I’ll sell whatever the .... I’d like to sell. They refunded my money for the seat as they knew they ...... up. They did not ask me to send it back. So I sold it for the cost of shipping and therefore made no money off it. I don’t like getting bent over unlike Andy.

.... these ...... I hope motoxp reads that. Obviously they are a shady company. If you don’t protect yourself, they will take advantage of you. They’ve already proved this. If you try to sort this out on your own or you’ll be out more money.

I bought painted race fairings for my 1199 a long time ago. For the price, I was happy with the quality.

That justifies it then..,🙄

You’re trying too hard.

I will say the fit hasn't been terrible. The two panels which didn't fit well were the upper and lower left. I was able to gently warm the lower with a heat gun give it a slight bend and get it to line up. With the battery cover, there's a slight inconsistency with my OEM fairings with the posts which fit into the o-rings in the upper fairings which have a different shape, and the date code panel is very different as the OEM includes a part number and other details that these don't.

I don't as much take issue with the panels, but the paint quality. For the chuck it into the gravel or the eventually you'll crash crowd, I don't think they'd care. Being as they were sold as street fairings, my expectations were higher. If I had to give them a compliment, their finish is very smooth. There's just trash in the paint and it's very thin. I suspect, and this is complete conjecture, that if you were to order a set of fairings from them glossy with stickers, you wouldn't have the problems that I did.

I don't trust them to refund it after the dude said I was scamming him and considering I'd have to re-package it and pay for return shipping. I'd rather sell them steeply discounted while being painfully honest in the listing.

You’re just going to let them rake you over the coals like that??? Ooof… I’ve got some .... that I’d like to sell you as gold

I’m sorry to hear about your experience @bp_SFV4 and also sorry to hear some of the judgments made on what actions you should take.

This is just my opinion but I’ll just say it… I notice many people equate value with money and although that isn’t always false it isn’t entirely true either. Monetary value is only an aspect of true value.

I present a question to some of the contributors to this thread… what is the value of the time and effort @bp_SFV4 would have to spend in resolving this issue?

The answer is that you don’t know… so rather than making personal judgments it would be better to contribute with ideas and options.

Hey mate, im on your side 100% , but, is it worth your head space and angst to challenge to get where?
Turn into a positive , your road fairings are worth more than their whatevers , put them on and do some track days, next you'll put a number on it and race it :) That's what the bike was designed for .

I have painted fairings from a -19R purchased from Flamingo, painted in tricolore. Perfect finish! Its the roadbike fairings so it has Ducati original fairings except the lower part that is in carbon and made in one piece. Looking into a race fairing for next year as my pace is getting higher now, but that will be some cheap china stuff if I can find it to a -22. Bikesplast if they do, but cannot find anything online. Then add a stickerkit and good to go!

I haven't updated this in a while, but I managed to find a logo they forgot to burn off. That dude actually sent me an email attempting to explain the logos being burned off. To paraphrase, he wrote that they make replica fairing kits, and at Ducati's request they burn off the Ducati logos to prevent someone from selling a forgery as a genuine special livery. Which is hilarious.

This is from the inside of an air conveyer provided by MotoXP. They aren't a terrible product; the fit is actually quite good, as I'm sure the Chinese have become quite skilled in knock-offs. Some of the black plastic pieces were a little rougher than expected. I take more issue with the paint quality but even more so with dude claiming over and over they are genuine Ducati.

Amazon ZXMT Fairings Ducati V4

So MotoXP bought fairings off aliexpress and are trying to pawn them off as their own. That’s why they burn off the logo. What a scam…

Btw, might be worth checking out a British fiberglass fairing manufacturer Hifibre. Would have to reach out to them by email as they don’t have a catalogue but seem legit. They supplied the fairings for the Tri-Options Ducatis. And another member @0260n25 picked up a set with good fitment.

@bp_SFV4 The part they have burned off clearly matches the ZXMT style and they would quite obviously appear to be passing off Chinese fairings as genuine Ducati items.

Basically, it’s fraud.

Maybe report it to the Italian police?

That wouldn’t be so bad but that’s not what has happened.

They appear to be claiming they are genuine Ducati fairings in their communications with the OP.

I looked at their website, however, and I do not see anything saying that the fairings are Ducati products.

@bp_SFV4 - did you think they were genuine Ducati parts before they claimed the parts were genuine in email communications, as I cannot see on their website any claims about them being genuine Ducati fairings? I don’t see anything claiming that they make the fairings themselves either.

If they sell Chinese fairings then that’s not an issue in itself.

They kind of make it sound like they produce the fairings: “We use injection moulds…” Either way, what is actually happening is they’re pawning off cheap Chinese Aliexpress fairings on their site that cost $250 and sell them for 4x markup. That’s a scam for sure.

They also say they make their products in Italy, so it's certainly a bit misleading.

They don't say they are genuine Ducati parts on their website and it's very clear that they are not selling genuine Ducati fairings, so I wouldn't have bought from them with any expectation that they were genuine Ducati fairings. I'm not sure if @bp_SFV4 was told something different by email prior to purchasing or if the comment by email about them being genuine Ducati products was made after he complained, but based on the website I would not have been expecting genuine Ducati stuff. That's not a problem in itself.
