Hey everyone - I'm moving my 899 to a full on track day bike and I have reached a dilemma and am hoping that some of you that have done this can guide me in the proper direction.
The plan is to install a full set of race fairings and run the stock display with a fairing stay.
When removing the lights, display, and stock stay, I seem to have only one choice with what to do with the stock wiring harness since I do not see any plug to disconnect that will only be the light side of the loom and keep the display lit.
So is my only choice to uplug all the lights, bundle these and then zip tie the bundle to the fairing stay?
Thanks

Basically. Just zip tie that shit and move on.

I always put the connectors in a bag, zip tie them and then zip tie the bag in place.

Easy peasy 3 minute job

Thanks everyone, I just wanted to make sure that there was not something that I was missing.

I am about to make the same conversion, OEM plastic to Armour bodies track body work, and would value any tips in general.

Thanks Gunny. I already have the bodywork, Sean at CCR is painting it, and I am about to pull the plastic off the bike, replace the OEM fairing stay and remove the rear subframe and replace them with reparable aluminum components.
I have many questions and I suppose the questions will become clearer next month when I get the bodywork back from Sean and begin to mount it. Sure is a lot of black plastic under those red fairings, e.g. plastic radiator shroud behind lower radiator.

Now THAT just totally made my day man!
Reading that more members are going to Sean for work motivates me and seeing you guys rocking out with track mindset is just fantastic!

Keep up the great work and please make sure I get to see the final product ok?
Please PM me if you remember since I'm rarely even on here anymore.
Just had my 2nd of 5 surgeries for December (one each week until Jan 4th) so I'm wicked out of it and not in forum mindset much. Matter of fact I'm even thinking of posting the tricked out Tri up soon. However, I won't be getting raped on it like many end up doing unfortunately - so may go way outside this forum to post it up. Lol.

Again, good news to hear and keep up the super work! :)

Hey gunny, thanks for looking into the shatkskins and recommending ccr last season. I was able to find a guy at the track with a race set that I believe ccr painted in tri scheme, I picked them up uncrashed as he switched bikes.
