Must have mods for 1299 base model?

We are victims of an explosion of aftermarket vendors eager to satisfy our instant whims and discretionary income.

I miss the ignorant days where you just suck it up and ride. There is something about conforming to the bike that lets you focus on what's important.

So for me, its the spacer and grips. Leave the rearsets for the track.

I just bought a base 1299 and it came with a slip on and ecu flash.
1) Buy a service manual - get to know this bike torque settings, how to properly take it apart and put it back together ( I like to tinker with my bikes)
2) set your suspension up properly
3) If you will be street riding- dude wrap your headers at a minimum. Your balls will thank you.
4) shift tech cf frame covers- look f'en great and prevent the frame from roasting your legs.
5)throttle spacers $30
6) fender eliminator
7) smog block off plates- I have not installed mine yet but I am curious to see it if helps with the heat , low rpm jerkiness and hot start issues for 30 it's worth it.
8) really want a rapid bike but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

forged all the crap this people are suggesting, get the suspension set up for you weight, probable you will need a new spring for the shock unless you are about 160 pound the front also,if you want upgrade your rear shock but just with the spring it ok, get the seat cover by a professional in suede, don't wasted your money on ducati seat they both suck. you don't need no throttle space crap or tuner for the bike just go and lean how to ride a big ... twin,no need for CF part also if you want get your self a pair of michelins pilot road tires the stock one don't like the street.

1) ignore almost everything esmirna mumbled in his post. This is MOST IMPORTANT.
2) do what YOU feel like doing and ignore everyone else's recommendations. You don't "need" any mod but best believe, once you start, it never stops.

Evotech radiator guards are the first mod you need to do - without them the fragile radiators on this bike look like hell in short order

forget all the crap this people are suggesting, get the suspension set up for you weight, probable you will need a new spring for the shock unless you are about 160 pound the front also

Do you have any idea how he rides? Or about his riding style? Or the layouts of the tracks he goes to? Or what tires he uses? Do you know where he likes to keep the suspension in the stroke (some people like to use more of the stroke, some like to use less)?

What matters is how well the bike performs, how stable it is under braking, how well it changes directions, tire wear, rear grip, so on and so forth...and bodyweight is not a factor in any of that.

People say that all the time "setup the bike for your weight". I have had my bikes setup by some of the best suspension tuners in the US, and not once has any of them ever asked me how much I weigh.

The moment you put your ... on the bike and your best suspension tuner in the" universe" take measure of the fork or shock the weight of body is include in the calculation of sag.
now I know the type of people is suggesting the OP to buy ....

you don't need a ....... pipes the stock pipe are fine
you don't need a ....... space learn how to use the gas.

What if I told you the sag hasn't been checked on a single race bike of mine in at least 8 years?

I have a feeling you don't know as much as you think you do.

What in the .... are you talking about? You do realize there are people on this forum who actually race these bikes competitively, right?

Let me guess, your idea of "perform" is how well the Panigale does in a roll-on "race" against a Hayabusa on the highway.

And by the way, YOU were the one talking about bodyweight. In your quote I posted, you specifically said "set the bike up for your weight". I have to assume you were talking about bodyweight, and not the weight of someone's backpack or some .....

He's talking about how fast it can get you to Starbucks:)

But seriously I am the first one to laugh when someone says they "need " a S over a base or something like that. But I am not gonna hate on anyone who buys one just because . If you want one just because they are cool then that's fine. Its your money spend it how you want. If you want to buy all kinds of .... for a bike just to cruise around on then who cares. Who are you to say what someone does with their money?

Ok speed racer you assume wrong bodyweight and setting the spring sag to compensate for you weight it two different .....so before you try to school me on don't tell people to set their bike's for suspension, go and take your RACE bike to your suspension king of the universe and tell him that in the last 8 years he never took your bodyweight in consideration.

the op ask what type mods he need to commute on his bike and people make it sound like in order to commute in this bike you need the following:
new radiator
spaces
rapid bike runner
rear set
crap, crap and more crap
I tell the guy to just set his suspension, save some money for a more street oriented tires and maybe a new spring for the rear depend on the op bodyweight,

i guess you got it wrong.

i had to rethink my statement, i now suggest:

- carbon fiber
- more carbon fiber
- even more carbon fiber
- stickers
- rim stripes
- austing racing exhaust
- full carbon windshield
- knife blade levers
- sato gold everything
- shinko tires

you are the "king of I base my acknowledge on all the .... I buy for my bike "
please tell the op to get one of this racing faring too. (I bet you got one also)
