lol MR racer did you know that when you buy your race suspension they ask you how much your weight?
NOT because a company give you free .... make you a professional races, unless I see your face in wsbk or motor gp you just another kid with money that goes to the track on the weekend.
can we see a picture of you with the umbrella girl ?
I hope she is getting pay by pirelli not a friend of your

You really are ....... clueless. You sound just like another Florida squid who knows fuckall about bikes, but thinks he does, simply because he beat some of his friends in a roll-on down the highway.

1. I don't buy my suspension online and no, they have never asked me how much I weigh. My suspension is taken care of at the track, by a professional. We pay attention to how stable the bike is under braking, how it changes directions, holds a line, finishes the corners on the gas, tire wear, etc.

If we were going by bodyweight, my rear shock is WAY undersprung...and my forks are oversprung. We arrived at this setup through trial and error while racing, not by looking at some bodyweight chart on the internet.

I have a buddy who weigh 135lbs, and his bikes are sprung for somebody that weighs 225lbs (if you are looking at some chart). Again, bodyweight is another force acting on the suspension, but it is ultimately irrelevant when talking about setup.

2. My name and records are out there for anyone to see. I have been racing since 2008 and this year I already have one Expert Championship in the bag, with a couple others possibly in the bag, depending on how the last round goes. That is actually me in my avatar, not some google pictures.

If you want some more, here you go:

So now, who in the hell are you? Lets see some of your pictures and trophies. Just because you are a squid, you can't assume everyone else on this site is also.

LOL you won a track club race and now you think you are a professional, sorry buddy but you just another kid from STT acting like you .... don't sting(and trust me I know a good bunch of your club member.we work in your bike a lot crying babies because ducati don't want to warranty your so call "RACE BIKE" or aprillia telling you to .... off we won't put a new engine.
you don't have no clued with who your talking (kid from florida lol)
no because I don't come here to measure my .... don't think you can ........ me you just another track day instructor
*WHERE IS THE ....... PICTURE OF THE UMBRELLA GIRL???????
ARE YOU GETTING MONEY FOR THE RACE YOU WON??
nope you get a pair of tire from STG in shelby twp(yes I know very well the guys there ).

i cant justify buying a full akra ($5500 installed) or slip a on ($4200 installed) from my stealership lol what a rip off.

I think the wife will have to stay with the stock pipes for a while because that is crazy money for a slip on :(

forged all the crap this people are suggesting, get the suspension set up for you weight, probable you will need a new spring for the shock unless you are about 160 pound the front also,if you want upgrade your rear shock but just with the spring it ok, get the seat cover by a professional in suede, don't wasted your money on ducati seat they both suck. you don't need no throttle space crap or tuner for the bike just go and lean how to ride a big ... twin,no need for CF part also if you want get your self a pair of michelins pilot road tires the stock one don't like the street.

I agree we have not modded any of our Panigale except for suspension setup and tail tidy :)

Why not get the evo full system for $3400ish? Just because it doesn't have an upmap or DP etched on the cans, doesn't mean it's a lesser product. I have the Termi full upmap with my Akra Evo full system. About $3600. Probably no different than the DP full system with upmap minus almost $2k. You won't notice the difference anyway. Hell, you can even run the system by itself without the upmap if you're just into the look and sound.

We are just street riders and really can't come to grip with the prices they are charging for these exhausts :(

Thank God the stock system already has nice sound :) instead of spending money on these exhausts we are going to buy fairings instead.

Going to get these for my wife's bike

And this one will go on my bike :)

For less than $2500 we could buy both of these fairings :) money well spent i reckon :)

Evotech radiator guards are the first mod you need to do - without them the fragile radiators on this bike look like hell in short order
I use RG, but yes it is not a bad idea given they are not that expensive. I bought mine only after 3 years of owning the bike. Man did i regret not getting thar much sooner. Don't be like me. Be smart. Be like ultra300x.

Second would be to tune your suspension (especially getting the right springs and set the right sag) for your bike. A bike that is hard to ride is never fun.

1. I never said I was a professional. You were the one acting like you know everything about suspension and what people should/shouldn't do with their bikes.

2. I am no "kid from STT", but yes, I am a track instructor, have been for years. However those pictures I posted were not at track days, those were at National races. None of the pictures I have posted are from track days.

3. Why do you put "race bike" in quotes? My bike was purpose built from the showroom floor into a race bike, and it has only been raced. It has never seen the street.

4. As far as warranties, or umbrella girls, or Aprilia motors, and any of the other ...., I have no idea what you are rambling on about. Your posts don't make any sense.

5. I never claimed to know everything or that my ".... don't stink". YOU were the one who came on here immediately with a ...... attitude, talking like you know everything and everyone else should be ignored. Then you came after me personally with your .... talking. You know nothing about me.

6. Once again, who are YOU? You came on here immediately with a ...... attitude directed towards me and everyone else in this thread. You immediately tried to discredit the things everyone else said, acting like you know it all...then tried to go after me personally. So lets see your resume, trophies, and championship plaques. For someone to immediately come on here with your kind of attitude, surely you are a multi-Expert Championship caliber rider.

The one thing we agree on is that these bikes don't necessarily "need" very much to be competitive, especially power wise. The forks could use some valve work, the springs need to be changed (NOT according to bodyweight though), the A/F ratio needs adjusting, the OEM braking system needs serious attention, etc. But for the most part, these bikes are very good right out of the crate.

I don't get that one, I am 190 and they could barely get enough sag at the dealer.

Ride the thing for 3 months, then read this thread again and you will figure out what's the, "must have mods," for you.

Do you have any idea how he rides? Or about his riding style? Or the layouts of the tracks he goes to? Or what tires he uses? Do you know where he likes to keep the suspension in the stroke (some people like to use more of the stroke, some like to use less)?

What matters is how well the bike performs, how stable it is under braking, how well it changes directions, tire wear, rear grip, so on and so forth...and bodyweight is not a factor in any of that.

People say that all the time "setup the bike for your weight". I have had my bikes setup by some of the best suspension tuners in the US, and not once has any of them ever asked me how much I weigh.

I've read your posts on suspension a few times. I am not saying you are wrong, but there is a huge difference between the average street rider, and any racer.

I remember when I did Cali Superbike School, my bike went down and I used one of there's. First thing is said, "will they give me a bike with the sag set up to my weight. The answer was no! They just have me a S1000RR to use that day. Yes, it was fine but it was also a bike set up for the track, so it was already dialed in.

I also know that every street bike I have owned, Speed Triple, CBR1000RR, BMW S1000RR, Aprilia RSV4, all were taken to my suspension guy, and each one needed the Front and Rear sag to be changed because they were all too soft. The Speed Triple had the most noticeable change. It was sloppy, that turned wide and was never settled. After that thing could carve a turn with the best of them. I had so much confidence in the front I was spinning the rear after I got in the gas at the apex. Before I had no confidence in the front.

The single best mod anyone can do on a sport bike, who has the intention of riding and TURNING this sport bike, is getting the sag set in the correct range, which does vary for there weight. There are stiff and soft setting of sag. A good turner will ask you what kind of riding you to, track, low sag setting, or cruising, and they will make it softer so your body doesn't get too beat up.

BTW, my turner always says, come wearing what you want to have it set up for, I go in full leathers (my heaviest, and during the set up, they ask me to get in position, you can get into a tuck or you can sit up. I get set up for the track. I figure that is important, and street riding will be close enough. Also, people must remember this is a baseline that needs some more tweaking based on your riding style. My turner asked me if I trail brake. The first time I went with the Speed Triple I did all the time, now, especially on the street, I don't.

So please stop telling people getting their suspension set up for them is not important. It's important if you want to turn your motorcycle. It also stops the occasional tank slapper under acceleration, so yes, it's very important.

what does the throttle spacer do exactly?

it might be appropriate for me to chime in on this particular thread since i am not a very aggressive rider and at 16k miles, i just installed these spacers (both of them) and went out for one ride yesterday. i feel cheated; cheated out of 16k miles. this is the way this bike should have came on day one. :(

I haven't done this mod yet. I guess I'm getting ripped off. Sounds like a winner. Probably do it with gear change.
