Canada My HP4 was stolen!!

Would this hold up to a grinder? Or whatever those are called?

I haven't tried it myself, but this is the best on the market. Its got a coating to resist it, and off center links to prevent bolt cutter use. Before I bought mine I searched all over for videos or descriptions of someone defeating the chain, and found none. This is some serious chain.

I guess you could buy the chain for 100 bucks and try it out and attack it with a grinder and hand tools. If it hold up, its worth the 100 dollar experiment to not have to find another HP4 in the future. I can tell you the ground mount I put in, is NOT coming out. They come with small BB's that you hammer into the allen wrench holes and a steel cap you hammer on top of that. ZERO chance for them to dismount it from the ground.

NOLA.

Very, very, very sorry to hear

I would be EXTREMELY pissed if someone took my HP4. Very sorry to hear and I hope it works out for you.

I was looking more into the Krypto lock and found this info on a different forum.

Old, but still very helpful: New York Fahgettaboudit locks again!

Good luck....

I have that very Kryptonite ground anchor installed in my garage. I keep my bikes locked up as I have seen too many people easily break into garages and steal bikes. Of the options available, I do trust that this anchor will be VERY difficult and time consuming to defeat.

Chain wise, the best one available (know none are unbreakable) is the Almax Immobiliser IV. Again, nothing is going to totally stop a professional thief but I have two of these chains on my bike... at the least it will take them more time to break both chains which will give me a better chance of the alarm system kicking in and capturing them on camera (yes, I have a camera in my garage as well. And yes I'm paranoid).

Hope you get your bike back or at the least that insurance takes care of you!

Hmmm..... A little excessive I think..... The biggest issue is that law enforcement doesn't care ..they are busy catching speeders and writing tickets...as this equals revenue..recovering stolen property and prosecuting thieves does not..

Honestly I don't think it's excessive at all. If you find this kind of behavior morally acceptable it probably means you are a ......... in all walks of life and IMO the world would be better off w/o these people at all.

You might try this alarm system by Colt.

I think it is part of this forum's features, that if 8 months after joining you still don't have an 1199, your current bike disappears :D

i dont think diane frankenfienstein will like that system. it looks mean and resembles a military weapon even though its nothing like a machine gun and is just like any other rifle.

The Evil Black Rifle pictured below, its such a joke, I remember when the AK47 was the evil rifle. We can't even sell AR-15's to New York, CT or Marlyland anymore really sucks.

The number on the triple was/is 0162. It was stolen from the Thornhill Area!!

Some of the unique things on this bike is that it had HP passenger pegs. Let me know if you see this bike anywhere!!

So pissed!!

Was the bike stolen from a garage of a house OR underground garage in an apartment/ condo?...

Well I do want to say that you shouldn't own an expensive bike if you don't have a garage or a secure place to store it. Most of the bike thefts happen when they are parked outside. I've seen tons of threads regarding this. Irresponsible bike ownership does result in increased premium for everyone else.

At the same time bike robbers should be castrated in public and fed to wild hungry dogs. Hopefully since the bike is a limited edition you will be able to recover it.

Danger close- love your username.

Phil- you beat me to it. Pull the fairings off the bike and take a micro engraving tool and just out a full name and city/state and you're golden. Fairings get good $$$ on eBay so they'd be the first thing I marked up.

Trauma- Beautiful Coltcadi. When I one day move out of this dump New Jersey into a constitution abiding state (such as PA) I will be doing all the classes/paperwork/etc necessary to legally carry in the state and cities of first class. I'm a small dude, so I'll be going the pussy route and will protect myself, my motorcycle and my family with a beautiful .45 1911.

Thanks - I picked it up at a Colt factory store near here in Mexico, MO right before the so-called "ban" of '94.
