Hello everybody,

I had the bad/wonderful idea to install the Rizoma oil reservoirs on my bike.

The technician realised that the hose supplied by Rizoma was too large to fit and being at a yamaha dealer he tried to fit one from an R1.

When I got home I noticed a small leakage from the bottom of the hose (close to the brake lever. I immediately put a cloth underneath and rang the dealer who is following up with rizoma.

Question: what parts of the bike are most at risk while I wait for the replacement hose? Just paint or also metal/other stuff?

I'm leaving work asap to go home and check what happened from noon onwards...

Every "nice/don't stress too much" answer is much appreciated;)

Your gas tank's paint will be the number one priority to protect and save...as brakefluid works similar to paint stripper. Also the plastic instrument panel once hit by brake fluid...marks will appear and will ruin it....

With bare metal parts, Brake Fluid is harmless. I suggest you wrap a sock over your Rizoma brake reservoir all the way down to the rubber hose to prevent leaks from flinging to painted surfaces when using the bike....In any case..if you can avoid using the bike the better...use it only..if ever...just to go to the dealer to have problem rectified immediately.

thank you so much. The leakage is close to the lever cylinder only...I put a cloth underneath and the leakage is more a kind of sweating than a proper dropping:)

Thank you again

wrap a plastic bag around it, tape it up until it can get sorted. No biggie

no issues with that...bike is parked and will be moved only to get the problem fixed

thx for the help
