I can't decide between a 1199S or a 1299S. Long time rider have had a GSXR1000, 600s, RC51, ZX6RR, currently have a BUSA. Love MotoGP. Always respected Ducati's. After this deployment. Life is too short. Ready to pick. Just not sure which one. Help me decide. My research is that the 1299 has better torque and smoother, in lower gears, and good mid range power. Along with better handling and great electronics? Again...HELP!

Love Bikes, can talk this stuff all day

if price doesnt matter too much get the 1299s. it fixed all the problems that was there with the 1199 plus clutchless downshifts etc. if you want a bargin the 1199s you can find them all over.

personally i would do the 1299s not even a thought

what were the issues with the 1199 series?

1299S every time.. I had an 1199S and the extra torque offered by the 1299 makes for a much more 'ducati' riding experience - ie huge amounts of low down/mid range grunt. The 1199 needs to be ridden more like an IL4 to get the best out of it, high up in the rev range.

I was disappointed the first rime I rode my 1199S, couldn't stop smiling the first time I rode the 1299S, I remember thinking that Ducati had fixed the bike.

No comparison in my opinion.

Went with the 1299 Panigale S. Love it so far? Any suggestions for frame sliders for the Pani? Also I dont like the Rizoma license holder, i prefer under the tail more. Are there any tips, things to know or General info any one can share? Glad to finally have my Ducati. Thanks

Thanks! Excited. Anyone want to comment on frame sliders, or other things that can help? Just general information? Things I need to know? Much appreciated!

I have the GB racing case savers. Not the shiniest, but probably the best for impact.

I also have the R&G steering stops, but they are rather inconvenient for city riding and maneuvering .

My tail tidy is a 90 degree aluminum piece with 4 holes, bolted to the passenger peg threads.

what were the issues with the 1199 series?

lots of them were fixed in recalls but the 2012 had melting fairings, heat problems, no front end feel, hovering front wheel at speed, left turn signal and horn failing above 200 degrees, no oil viewer till 2013, opaque anti freeze viewer with basically clear antifreeze so you cant check the levels. no grab area to remove the oil filter, fixed in 2013. having to remove 2 fairings to change the anti freeze.

thats just off the top of my head

competition works for tail tidy with integrated turn signal bend the holder it tucks under your tail. look at my avatar there is a license plate there.
