New Termignoni Up-Map?

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I received an e-mail from my dealer tonight!

E-mail from dealer at 8:00PM this evening:

A while ago you had asked about an update for the ECU in the 1199. This has just been released (about 30 minutes ago) for the US market.

We will get the download to our system tonight.

From Ducati's bulletin "The software download encompasses (for both OEM/ DP) torque, power, drivability, and shifting updates."

I'd be interested to know if/what they charge for this service......?

I would expect it too be a free charge to provide updates within its warranty period. That would be messed up after paying that type of cash to pay for a mistake or update on their behave. Thx Shawn

Fo sho, no doubt it will likely be very free.

I asked my dealer for the costs but have not heard back. He said it may require a test ride afterwards. I'm assuming the download takes less than 10 minutes.

Update

I had my update earlier today from Ducati Coventry whilst having a new tyre, They said it only came through yesterday.
My bike has Termi slip on's
It seems much smoother in Sport and Race Modes
The Quickshifter seems much better as well (might be just me)

I have a full system on the tricolore, I had the new-up map installed while getting the recalls done today (2 nov). it seems to be a little better in the mid range, but it feels like it needs a little more work. low rpm(1-3k) seems slightly improved also at take off.

Will this affect the RAPID BIKE Race EVO module if the old MAP is in? Or, should it be updated too?

I would think that if you upgraded old map to new then the Rapid Bike would also have to be changed. Would need to ask Rich at Austin Racing to be sure.

I would assume that your bike is running whatever map is installed in the EVO module so the old and new maps shouldn"t have any bearing on things. Sounds logical to me captain:D

This was a concern I related to him. Since it is a piggyback and dependent what the base map has.

Today, done a upmap upgrade for the full Termignoni Titanium. Had a quick glance from the DDS2.0 on the PC screen and the map upgrade is simply named as version 5.At no charge from dealer..

City riding from dealer to back home, from the seat of the pants, for the first 3 gears, with a generous throttle, it feels more torque from 4000rpm to mid range rpm than before. There is a difference in my opinion....

I had mine uploaded for the full Termi system last Saturday at the dealers. It was free of charge. Took about 20 minutes or so.

Bike seems to have more torque in lower and mid RPM range. To me it seems like it made the engine smoother (the engine doesnt feel choppy anymore like its starving for fuel in the lower RPM's) but more sensitive to the twist on the throttle at mid rpms. To me, the best way I can describe it is: the mid range feels like that feeling when you are in first gear 25-35 MPH and when you hit a bump and a slight twist of the throttle occurs and the bike takes off like you are trying to brake in a wild horse. That's the way my bike felt on the freeway in 4th gear doing 70-80 MPH going home from Ducati. I didn't get a chance to open it up all the way this weekend but it definitely has more power and torque in the lowers and mids. Recommend updating the upmap at least for the full system.

My dealer Seacoast Sport Cycle told me they will have to do a test ride afterwards and charge me. They would do it for free if it was included in regular service. Unfortunately I had the first service done about 10 days ago.

People bitch at me and call me a jerk for bashing dealers on here...but this to me is yet another example of the BS dealers try to pull.... No wonder they have no respect!!!!
