New Termignoni Up-Map?

My dealer Seacoast Sport Cycle told me they will have to do a test ride afterwards and charge me. They would do it for free if it was included in regular service. Unfortunately I had the first service done about 10 days ago.

The mechanic took my bike for a test ride after he uploaded the map also but didn't charge me. He was not aware that a new upload was avaiable until he checked the system and said yep it just came in so he uploaded it. I had asked him what the change was about he said he didnt know yet. After his test ride he said "I can tell you this... More power thoughout the band and smoother". I asked the owner if I owe anything he said no.

Sorry if I'm asking something that was already answered but,

DOES THIS UPLOAD APPLY TO STOCK EXHAUST? AND IF SO, HAS ANYONE HAD IT PERFORMED AND HAVE THEY NOTICED A DIFFERENCE? (performance, sound, anything, etc)

Thanks!

side note: god it sucks waiting to see what Akra & other exhaust manufacturer's come out with...taking forever!!!

My dealer's closed Mondays, how do you guys get all this info and service? I'll check with mine tomorrow and find out what he says. I will have completed my first service 10 days ago, but bringing back when my new rear shock comes in that was warranty.

I was in the shop Sat. The service manager came up to me and stated that Ducati had just informed him that there was a new map for the 1199 Base model but he did not have it yet. Said he would have it by Tuesday which is the first day of the week for Bloodworth Ducati in Nashville, Tn.

I will try to get it done this week or at least call and get an appointment to have it done along with the other warrenty work that they have not done yet as I have been waiting until the upmaps were released to get warrenty work done.

Just had my 1000km service and was told that there was an ECU flash available.
I can say that the flash has made a difference at lower RPMs . ie below 4k.
I can now cruise in slow traffic (<30km/h) without having to ride the clutch in order to prevent surging.
Not sure if it's because I've racked up 1000ks or if its the flash.. but she feels much "freer".

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Thought I'd also add that prior to the service, I had disconnected the exhaust valve as I found it rather difficult to ride at really low speed with it connected. It was better after after I disconnected the cable, but still challenging.
During the service, I got a call telling me that there was an ecu update and they'd noticed the cable was disconnected. I was told that if it wasn't reconnected, the ECU would throw error codes. It was going to cost me 1/2hr labour (~$70), so I told them I'd do it myself.
Anyhoo.. when i got home, I went to reattached the cable and noticed they'd reconnected it anyways. No charge.... win!!!
Long story short... she runs better at low rpms, even with the exhaust valve active.

Would be interesting to see a pre & post map dyno run to see if its filling in the flat spot at all, or if its allowing the bike to make euro-spec power.

I doubt it has anything to do with Euro-Spec, that would be violating US regulations etc lol. If it fixes what I've been complaining about, I'll be a happy man.

it applies to stock, slip-on and full termig. No chance to try on stock to give a feedback at this point.

One can wonder if this reflash is closer to the Euro versions that we could not have originally due to the tough emissions restrictions. What a great way to circumvent the EPA: export the bikes neutered(EPA compliant) then at end of model year production, release the original intended map as an upload. totally legal(I think).:D Just a theory, I could be wrong:D Time will tell if Dyno results are much improved, OCT. Sportrider magazine shows a 144 H.P. reading! WTF!!! lower than a stock R1!

I misunderstood my dealer. I will NOT be charged for the new MAP install. I sincerely apologize for this misinformation.

I just talked to my dealer, now that his link with Ducati has been re-established, the new upmap for my Base is in. I will have it loaded (for free) this Saturday and post the results.

Spoke with Rob at Ducati New Orleans who has ridden the Panigale with the new map and said that there's a very noticeable increase in midrange and low end power. Additionally, the map also smooths out the fueling a significantly. The update also changes some variables associated with the quickshifter, but he indicated he felt no difference.

I'm scheduled to go in next Tues.

Had my 1000km service done at frasers Sydney a month ago and asked about the new map, was told there was none?
