I know this is a dumb question but I have to ask so I dont mess up my bike. Do I need to put water in the upper radiator after I fill the coolant?

Did you drain the coolant completely? If so you should have put the coolant in the radiator first.

i had to change the lower radiator cuz i took a rock and it leaked. just filling it back up so i can ride.

first off if you use water make sure its distilled water. most stuff is premixed for you. i run engine ice and or liquid performance race coolant. you need 2 bottles of the stuff. its 64 oz the rad takes about 70 oz what crap. evo tech rad guards.

yes, top off the radiator and the coolant reservoir behind the upper part of the lower right front fairing.

take it for a spin, let it cool down and then fill up the reservoir again.

so pour the coolant directly into the upper radiator cap?

thats what i did then the reservoir. good luck seeing through the site though you will need a led light and a dark garage to see the level. the sight is not clear and the fluid is basically clear.

Make sure you burp any hoses after you think you've filled the radiator.

taking it for a quick spin and cooling it down will take care of that.

i learned the hard way, when the quick spin turned out to be a 20 min. interstate ride to work... coolant temp went up a bit

all fine on the way home.
