Nicky Hayden Fired....

I doubt Cal will now consider a Ducati ride, he's doing much better where he's at...why would he?

The DUCATI needs to be scrapped and start all over...and don't mention Stoner.

The current bike is not when Stoner mastered !...damn I miss him :/ lol

I was just about to mention I was crossing my fingers for the return of Stoner lol.

They must already have someone lined up if they are announcing the release of Nicky. I don't think they'd fire an "ok" rider if they didn't already have someone better in mind to take his spot. So if not Cal, any other guesses at who would be without a doubt better than Nicky for Ducati to make this decision now?

There is no way Crutchlow will jump from a competitive team to one that's quite simply not...

Who knows? Ducati seems intent on trying as many riders as possible on the bike and none of them are having any success. If Cal goes it's for a payday; Dovi was just as good as Cal on the M1 and look where he is on the Duc, hell, Rossi was just as good on the M1 and look where he went on the Duc. It's probably Cal, under the delusion that's he the magic fix for the Ducati. Unless they do want to move Spies, still under contract, to the factory team.

It's not Nicky's fault it's a .... bike. It's actually better for him if he moves to something, somewhere he has a chance to be competitive on.

Who's gonna sign Hayden??? He will go to WSBK I bet...

Good question, earlier I read an article where he implies and reassures that he's still got it...but who will give him a shot?

He emphasizes and compared himself to Rossi going back to proven machine and back on podium lol.

Good luck Nicky, enjoy the perks while they last....no doubt Ducati is one of the best brands to represent, they have the best events and freebies :).

Like Frosty said, Crutchlow is moving to Ducati for the money - that's been his main beef with Tech 3, he doesn't make nearly enough. The world economy still sucks, and you need a crapload of personal sponsors to pay the bills, and in some cases even pay for your ride.

Nicky stuck in there with Ducati for the paycheck. He hasn't shown anything in the TC era, he can't adapt his style to the 250-type corner speed style that all the 125/250 Europeans come from. If they did away with TC, he and Rossi would be back competitive again but as others have said that's unfortunately not likely to happen (although it happened very successfully in the last 3 years of F1).

Bradl could likely go to Ducati because Audi brass wants a German in there, and Bradl is on thin ice with Honda. He's a good rider too. Ducati needs a new re-design because they're still trying to tweak Preziosi's design and he's not even there anymore. Until that happens, that bike will continue to be the career-ender that everyone refers to it as.

Incidentally, that's also what's happening with the Panigale in SBK, but more because of politics with Dorna - a Spanish entity - having displaced the Flammini Group - Italians - in power at SBK. Ezpeleta (CEO of Dorna) is extremely cozy with the Japanese, especially Honda, and the SBK rules will likely never favor a big twin again. Ducati will scrap the inherited-from-MotoGP-where-its-not-working monocoque design of the 1199, including the V-Twin in 2016 for something more competitive with the 4-cylinders that will rule the series for some time. V4? V3? Who knows but with Audi demanding the same success they experience in car racing, something very drastic will change at Ducati - believe that.

I bet Nicky helped them sell a .... tonne of Ducs in the last few years though. His charisma and Gucci catalog spreads did wonders for Ducati PR.

No ....! America is still Ducati's biggest market, and all racing is at the end of the day is marketing for a brand's consumer products. Even more so now that Audi owns them. Not sure how Cal Crutchlow is going to sell Monsters to hipsters in American cities...

+1 - I bet this is the last twin superbike. We'll see a 4 next time around.

Yay! Then the 1199 will be like the Porsche 993, the last "true" Ducati Superbike. Hopefully values will increase because what I've seen used 1199's go for recently is quite sad...

Agreed, Ducaudi probably wants Bradl so they can stop the shiza in die lederhosen after every race. :D

no! If you consider a 993 as the last true porsche than the 1198 would be the last true duc!!!
