180 at the crank/160 at the rear wheel is probably all any expert amateur rider would ever possibly need, on the street or at track days.

but the market says otherwise. the marketplace says more is better. it's logical, no? plus if you own a superbike, you most likely have buddies that also own sport bikes, and if you say that who has the most powerful (and presumably "fastest") bike doesn't matter, you're not paying attention.

That's like standing around comparing the size of your cock . I never win that one that's why I don't care .
It's a fuckin stupid discussion but not unexpected .

didn't say it was intelligent, did I? but it affects the purchase decisions of a great majority of sportbike buyers.

Just squids who drag race each other on the street . Anyone can own a Sportsbike dosnt make them a rider .

Funny you start talking about egos, then trot out your own - gotta love that nasty pride, it always shows up

Life is short, we're all decaying and headed for the grave, where all boasting is excluded

What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.

It actually killed him when he hit a car this year I can tell you life isn't better for him or anyone else that knew him.
I actually went for a nice ride today he didn't your story is not ringing true to me .

I'm thinking ultra300x and fzr10098 are the same guy . fzr10098 missed trolling us about how much ducati sucks and kawasaki was really fast in a drag race etc etc. so he came back under a different name. The guy needs to get a life. Ignore the idiot

I remember that guy . He was a complete dick .
You might be right .

A quick google search shows that it likely is. Looks like he's got a history of being banned everywhere and re-registering under a different name. Worse than Tye even.

I just wish WSBK put a stop to Ducati to use 200 cc more displacement just because they only have 2 cylinders.
They should of say to Ducati hey! iWe don't care you want to use 2/3/4/5/6 L or inline or W engine configuration as long as the displacement is 1000c that's what you have to race with!.
I understand Ducati want to milking as much as they can for all the money and R&D they've spent for the Panigale and retools the factory.
But it's 5 years already(with no single Championship) how much more you can squeeze from one single design to make it different styles....? 1199/899/1299/959 come on enough already!.
Don't get me wrong I loved Ducati and I owned 8 of them till this day!, but enough is enough L-Twin just can't compete in real race no more! time to change the configuration doesn't have to be so stubborn!
The ERA of L-Twin and Desmo Valve is over! how much more displacement you want to squeeze out of 2 cylinders....? 2000 cc L-Twin.....?

Now the Aprilia introduce a WSBK spec bike as a Homologagted "road bike" to bed the rules a bit with engine, ( the same spec that got banned by SBK in 2014 for using GP tech), I can see Ducati doing the same thing. I mean the 2014 aprilia engine was the only thing that gave Giuntoli the title, and Marco Melandri lol. This bike with Eugene Laverty on it could be a real headache for Aruba Ducati.

That Aprilia is not homologated. Therefore still not the basis for their WSBK machine. Also, the pneumatic valves that they were using on the RSV4, which were subsequently banned, were used prior to 2014.
