When I was shopping around for my bike in November (local dealed closed down) I called five dealers within 100 miles or so. Four of them told me they would have it in February or beginning of March. One actually gave me a specific date. The fifth dealer said "Italian company, new model. Do not expect them to hit a March deliverable." I went with the fifth dealer because he fed me no BS. He estimated April, but made no promises. He tempered my expectations further by saying May might not be out of the question. I've called him a few times over the months to get any info on delivery (getting paranoid from reading too many conspiracy theory posts) and he never gave me any dates. He did contact me when DNA published the letter with delivery schedule. Even after this, he told me not to hold my breath. Well, I just got an email from him tonight saying that my Tricolore will arrive on April 27 and I can pick it up on the 28th. We shall see.

Just talked to my dealer to confirm this information, he said that it is only affecting certain parts of the country and they I will be recieving my 1199s on may 1st which is the tuesday after the release party and demo day. Hope this remains true because I can't handle any more disappointment!

got of the phone with my duck dealer he as told my the week of 14th the base will be in and since i was the first one to pre order the first one that comes through door will be mine ... oh he does have my pipes in stock ...lol to bad i dont do drugs or i will pot some tweeds in them and smoke it..

But we will see this weekend i am going to a different dearler for the demo bull****

Turns out, some dealers including mine, will be using customer's bikes for the unveiling...thats somewhat a relief but how crazy would that make you?

Knowing that your bike's been there for a day or 2, but can't take delivery 'til after the ceremony or next day lol...Xbox who has a Tri had to do this lol

Hey, at least you could go look at it everyday lol

That would PISS me off.... total BS. Use a customers bike for marketing/hype after ordering it months ago.

Then you have to worry about it being roped off, or being felt up...

Yup, but I got 2x slices of pizza, 1x kebab, +10 coffees and lots of pics of pretty show girls, while I stood on guard at the show over the weekend

Got to start the bike today and should get tomorrow - its totally sick.

Well not my bike really but I agree, they'd have to offer me some kinda incentive...minimum, free first service ($300 on my 1198)

But I think it would piss me off more if they had a demo bike for unveiling with no customers bike in sight.

I love the crew that I'm buying my bike from but I'll be checking the odometer & looking for scratch's like crazy knowing they used my bike at the unveiling...

I'd be pissed to find out some ass-hat sat on the bike before I did since they didn't let me sit on the bike at the Chicago motorcycle show when I put the deposit down...

+1, mine is a base, no ABS. All the same, I won't be home until mid-July, and I would like it in pristine condition when I get it.

I saw the official letter for US deliveries, which states the April 23 is the ship date to dealers for the S ABS.

I also saw an email from the Ducati USA rep to the dealer a week ago that said my bike was the first they were shipping to the dealer (an S ABS), an that it should get there by the first week of May, if not, during the second week of May.
Either way, it's very soon.

Yes, I know we are all very eager to get our bikes. But in reading all of these posts, don't you think we sound like a bunch of spoiled brats, at best?

Yes; meeting customer expectations is important. Yes, distribution, communications and delivery expectations could have been executed better. But, in the end, a few weeks here or there is not really going to change my life.

And if you are part of Ducati management team, selling the company is far more important than getting the 1199 customers their bikes a month or so within the date that was first communicated to them. Sorry; that's just the way it is. Company issues with long-term implications take president over product/execution/customer issues with only short-term implications.

So, As I over-posted in multiple threads...
Just talked to my dealer, they got my TRI this morning for the unveiling party..

They scheduled the delivery on May 4th....because they still don't know how to prepare it...! They told me the Termis slip-on are an 8H job

I believe they want to keep it for the week to show it to as many customers as they can...!
I just don't care...as long as they are no scratches on it...Life is good..!

Oh....and I forgot to say....just got a insurance quote at CND $560 tax-in....Life is VERY good...almost couldn't believe it...

GRRRRR !!!!! I'm so uneasy right now !!

one of my 3 "local" dealers has a 1199S RIGHT NOW WITH NO NAME ON IT, will be used for unveiling party then could be mine friday night ugh...(DNA really pressured all dealers to have at least one bike, well they have an extra one)

I have a Base 1199 on order for which im #2 in line for, but I wanna stay loyal to my regular dealer and also not sure I can justify getting the "S" hmmm

May make the 80 mile commute to go look at it tmrw, to help make up my mind...damn it!!!! lol
