Help Support Ducati Forum:

i read this thread so i decided to call my dealer in chicago to see whats going on( thinking that he would have called me if there was an issue) and i found out the same thing that you all are talking about here!!! you think that sppending that kind of money on a bike they would have the courtesy to call their people and let them know.
He told me that eta of my s /abs is fue to arrive mid may now. original eta was 4/28. BUT he said not to worry cuz ducati MIGHT surprise us with an early delivery!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
it is what it is. maybe the germans can teach them a few things. when i preordered my S1000RR, BMW said that i would have my bike march 2010 and guess what, i got my bike march 2010!!!
I guess that when you spend $25k-$30k on a bike, not only should they deliver on the date they promise, but they should have the bike delivered in your driveway escorted by a Couple hot ass girls to spend the day with you and your new bike!!!! especially the way the markets are now!!! most people dont even spend $30k on their car!!!

I was told by MY dealer (who didn't order any demo), that he would instead receive a TRI as his launch event bike for May 27th-28th. And since that is my TRI, I could probably pick-up right after the launch party, meaning May 30th...:D. They also told me there were 3 dealers in the same situation around Canada...if this happens to be true, I'll be one of the few riding a TRI, or any Panigale for that matter, in Canada next week....:D
I'll keep you ....... posted on what really happens next week...!
But what ever happens....VIVA ITALIA...VIVA 1199...!

Yeah that's the last official update we got from DNA. Everything else is just hearsay. I believe it stated something like the first deliveries planned the week of..... then showed that table. It also stated that they would be "delivered in order of priority of pre-sold units per the dealer manual"

I am still counting on this until I hear something different from DNA officially.
Don't hold your breath. I dealt with DNA before and they are nothing but a bunch of weasels

Do you guys have a different calendar up north?

Same old ........
There is NO Ducati Canada.
All bikes sold in NA go through Ducati USA.
I was even expecting 1 or 2 weeks delay from the US schedule.

I was referring to your stating you would have a bike next week after the may 27th launch. just busting your chops lol

lol

I think sajonf was refering to you saying your dealers launch date was MAY 27/28 and not April 27/28 like the US

typo?

Reaaallly wish people would stop asking their dealers "when is the bike going to arrive?". Like wake the ... up. THEY DON'T KNOW!!! Ducati NA didn't even know they were making and importing a Base with ABS model into the U.S. (asked their rep at the NY motorcycle show in January). Then the dweeb started to tell me crap that he read from a magazine...word for word. If you are dumb enough to still keep believing that the delivery schedule will come true, well sorry to say you're about as dumb as Ducati NA is. People in the know have TOLD you that the S models were made 2 months ago and were given to U.K buyers. Read the past posts. Everything that was said by a couple people has proven to be true.

Ducati Italy could give 2 sh*ts about you, me or anyone who ordered one of these things...oh and I cancelled my order and bought an MV Agusta F4 (haters can rag on that but least I'm riding rather than losing the season which is short anyway). Ducati has lied more times than I can count. Didn't start production as promised, then some bs about snow after late start producing, then some crap about import regulations and batteries with acid...oh is this a 'special' battery? Now more crap about headlights. Hate to call anyone a sucker, but hey, anyone from the outside reading the hundreds of dumb posts here with so many 'believers' would say u r all either very religious followers or really stooopid. Why not take a few minutes and write Ducati Italy a letter expressing your discontent? Short of that, suck it up and wait until God knows when.

Oh, and demo bikes being delivered before customer orders is total crap. Generating more orders is all that's doing. When and if these bikes are delivered when you placed your ORDER will be irrelevant. They won't be shipping them in 1 at a time. Cheers. I'm off for a ride.

I agree Stylin. Congrats on the MV. I like those bikes too.

I feel like been lied to. Dealer near here was telling people that all models were on a truck already. What a liar! Between Ducati (who doesn't tell us anything), DNA (who doesn't know) and the dealers (who are probably just as frustrated since they aren't making any money from the delays), all of our heads are spinning. We keep hearing only 2-3 more weeks, but it has all been untrue. As a company Ducati's customer service is not very good. Maybe with the new owners it will be better. Cannot get worse.

While I can't totally disagree, for someone who cancelled and bought an alternative bike, you seem to follow the 1199 awfully close...

Ducati supposedly manufactures and sells 40,000 motorcycles per year. You sure wouldn't know it based upon the trickle of production when it comes to the Panigale. Maybe Ducati has the 'capability' of producing 70 bikes a day, but the motorcycle journalists got tired of hanging around waiting for production to pick up and left. No article from MCN ever came out on 2/8. Production was said to be a paltry 'less than 20 bikes a day'. Nothing seems to have changed. In fact, based on deliveries, they haven't been making nearly 20 per day. Oh, well there is some good news. InvestIndustrial found someone to buy them out. Now that IS amazing. Good thing too since there were no other takers whatsover. Can't say more than that. They played up the hype to the max, got as many orders as possible and paid for journalists to visit Abu Dhabi. You must admit Ducati is VERY good at PR/Marketing. As far as production and customer service, I agree, NOT GOOD...and that's being kind.

By now people that are going to cancel orders have done so (and there have been many). Ducati doesn't care. Lots of new money with deep pockets now. They also don't care about customer service. Some would say that's typical of Italian companies in general and I guess that could be debated. Ducati does have a following and for good reason, the bikes are awesome, but it would be nice if they showed at least some appreciation towards all of us who have and continue to believe in them as we do.

Very true, it stinks. I hear Aprillia is even worse though which was my second choice for a new bike.
Start an email campaign to Audi;)

I haven't been on the forum for a while. Came on after the news of Ducati being sold to Audi. Not surprised to see more lame excuses and no bikes yet. Didn't know about this smoke problem [issue] but not surprised that there were hundreds of posts before any response from Ducati and noooo response from Ducati NA. Also, sounds like a noisy, smoky beast. Hopefully it passes the U.S. emissions tests or you'll all be waiting even longer. :D

Have not thought of that. If not the Panigale then what? MV F3 not so good reviews. KTM 1190 RC8R no electronics and not many dealers that sell the sportbikes. Never though of Aprilia but people not like them much here. Don't want 848 since they will change model next year like baby Panigale. They have us by balls.

Just another smug prick from NYC. :D

Up here near the tundra we have a Duc dealer about 25 minutes away, a BMW dealer about 75 minutes away (75 miles) and the nearest aprilla dealer is 3 hours away. MV? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Aprilla is too far, BMWs are fragging motors and I'm not getting another Jap 1000cc I4.

So I'm resigned to wait for the 1199, even if it comes in June.

Unless I cave and get a good deal on one o' them fancy Trumps with the gold s'pension things on 'em. :D

I hear ya. Had to go to Joyyyyzeee for the MV which does suuuck but got tired of waiting for the Pain-i-gale. I feel for everyone here. Trusting in a company that treats its best customers like dirt. This place is good for a laugh though. Someone said in one of the older posts that the Italian workers might put in overtime to get the bikes delivered. Someone else said yeah, they might go back to work after lunch. That about sums it up.

Someone they tell me ducatisti mean fool in some language but I not know. Seem like it though.
