i watch all the races way more than once and i know there was no way in the world they would have changed the assen outcome. (MM had the inside but whatever)
the announcers and motogp obviously bow at the alter of 46 hell they need him and he is still the face of motogp. one of the reasons i don't like him is all the bs the fans and the announcers are a cult following.

anyway if you listen all they keep saying is the 9 time world champ
when they speak of MM they say 2 time world champ or JLO 2 time world champ.

why don't they say for MM 4 time world champ or the same for JLO. for now on its VR 6 times world champ be consistent or don't say anything.

Mark out

I am old enough to remember when Valentino arrived on the 125 grid like the new vinyalis or MM and followed him through 250s and then the mighty 500 cc 2-stroke era , followed by the 990 cc original 4-strokes and then the 880 cc 4 -strokes and finally the current version of the "MotoGP" bikes.

A man, who has won not only races but world championships over 2 decades in every racing category and engine configuration, a man who at 36 years of age goes toe to toe with the youngest and the fastest....

IF someone is still unable to wrap their head around why those closest to the sport, those in the know and those who have raced with and against him , (not counting the hundreds of millions of fans) , if someone is still unable to understand why everyone (almost) hold him in such high regard, respect and awe- all of which seems like obvious bias - which btw it is, but not based on some publicity manager's successful campaign, but awe, respect and regRd that is earned over 19 years of competition, victories and battles at the very highest level in motorcycle racing... If someone is unable to understand WHY... Then there is no way to explain and any attempt would be a waste

Sometimes the "history" witnessed is far more impressive than the one documented... It's one of those "you had to be there" kind of things.

Good evening...

That.

It's not really hard to understand why he is the face of MotoGP, he is extremely talented and still wins races with 10 years of age on the other riders. But most importantly, he is a very likable person unlike the autistic Lorenzo or ......... Crutchlow.

In a lot of ways Rossi is the Arnold Palmer of motorcycle racing and will always be seen as the ambassador to the sport.

I don't understand how you can think mm had the upper hand at assen and desservs that call to favour him instead of Rossi. Or at least that's what I'm getting from your post. I don't give a flying fak if it was Frosty ..... mom on the bike instead of Rossi! She would of been ahead and had the right of way. The end.

^+2 what they said.. In addition, I just flat out like seeing the old man win.. I wish Nick had a bike that was competitive; I enjoy seeing the vetrens do well. As a matter of fact I never liked Biaggi but I wanted to see him do well @ Misano..
EDIT: ^v agreed MM was in toooo hot; pullin that off was a def hail mary...

It was a classic MM hail mary last corner effort. I knew it was coming, but glad it got shoved back in his face - honestly I would have laughed if he went down.

No one can deny MM has talent, however, and no doubt he has a long career and many wins ahead of him. Rossi is at the sunset of his career

I would like to add one thing, that although most of the "race commentary" threads tend to become a poster board for different camps who love or hate one rider or another...I would like this to be an exception..

After religiously watching AMA (earlier in the century), World Superbike and MotoGP for over 22 years, I can honestly say there has never been a rider I hated..never..not even "strongly disliked"..

They all have their personalities, some they put on and others they hide, but through it all, even when the rider I "preferred" to win loses to another rider..I try to remember THIS one fact...Through my 8 years of club racing, I couldn't even beat the guy (one specific guy) who failed to qualify for an AMA national.. I have raced with Josh Hayes and the rest, in WERA Endurance, and I think he lapped me within 20 laps..:)..

It keeps my pride and arrogance in check, it reminds me where I lie in the pecking order, and that before I go "monday morning quarterbacking" I need to remember the cheer Hard work, Natural Talent, dedication, sacrifice and determination it takes just to win a National Level race/Championship..Let alone a World Championship

I deeply respect and admire what they do on and off the track and can say with absolute confidence that unless I walk in their shoes, put up with Fans day and night, Social media negativity, sponsor obligation, intercontinental Travel and grueling daily Workout routines, I will never know why they do what they do, they say what they say Etc..

Have a good day all

did any of you read what i wrote. guess not i gave an opinion on a race announcers being bias. the fact is if you are a reporter you are suppose to be objective. did i say rossi didnt win the 9 titles no. im saying if you want to say 9 times whatever then be consistent. call mm or whoever 4 times world champ not 2.

did i say he didnt deserve to be the face of moto gp once again no he is the draw and the main draw.

did i say they should change the outcome no i said i thought mm had the inside and i didnt say that they should have changed it either.

again read what i said i said stop the bias and be consistent on behalf of the media that is all.

I may not speak for everyone but you clearly did miss the point entirely.

the answer to your original and reiterated "comment" is right there in all the responses but you fail to see it.
Continuing this "debate" is a waste of everyone's time because you yourself are showing the bias you claim to be witnessing
Good day

Good day

got your opinion rossi is king and since he is the face they should say and worship him every race. understood.

Mark you've been here longer than I have, but it seems like you just love stirring the pot. Every thread about racing you start turns into a fuckfest with people getting mad including yourself. It ms the same thing over and over, you post something, than get mad when people mis understand what you posted.

What gives dude? What are you trying to prove?

I have not been here long but I have noticed the Very thing, its funny that you mentioned it..

His posts remind me of a similar person on Speedzilla forum (8-10 years ago), I think he went by "Jamixxxx" user id (or something similar)...I think that person eventually left the forum...

Thanks to the internet, for a nominal fee you can sign up with motogp.com and watch videos of every single race since 1992, in other words Rossi's entire Gran Prix career. 125 and 250 amazing, world championships, 500's in 2000 finishing second behind Roberts in his rookie season with wins and podiums. 500 GP champ 2001, total domination from that point on, 2 stroke 4 stroke, Honda Yamaha. People that don't understand VR46 mania just do not know GP history.
Rossi is by far the greatest Gran Prix Motorcycle racer the world has ever produced, whether or not he wins the 2015 championship.

^All this is why I watch Moto 3. Every turn of every lap is non stop action and there are no big name favorites . No big team favorites, its just young hungry kids battling

im not mad at all its stiring it looks like stirring the pot because rossi fans cant admit anything.

truth is i like watching the guy race. i also love his interviews and from what i have seen (this forum or another dont remember) he is very good to his fans.

problem is if you state the obvious its like you killed someones first born.

all i said is that i noticed that rossi is always called the 9 time world champ yet MM JLO whomever is called 2 x champ. call mark the 4x champ call jlo the 4xchamp

i have the moto gp subscription and i have watched every race from 2006 on and handpicked the earlier ones.

all i will say is yes he won the races and yes he won the championships. right place right time. did he win yes was the compitition as good hell no. sette, caporosi, biaggi, checa come on now give me a break.

compare that to jlo stoner pedrosa mm dovi etc. you cant

I have always been a fan of Vale and I still am (although I find Marc more exciting as a rider) but I agree that he is a bit too mediatic and that can overshadow his genius sometimes. Independently of that, threads are supposed to create discussion and Mark is entitled his opinion. you can agree, disagree, or ignore it if it annoys you. It seems like he is being personally attacked because is opinion is controversial
