obvious motogp bias

I have always been a fan of Vale and I still am (although I find Marc more exciting as a rider) but I agree that he is a bit too mediatic and that can overshadow his genius sometimes. Independently of that, threads are supposed to create discussion and Mark is entitled his opinion. you can agree, disagree, or ignore it if it annoys you. It seems like he is being personally attacked because is opinion is controversial

exactly dont agree you are attacked god forbid i bring up the hp4 then people join up just to attack.

The point Mark is making is accurate in that they only refer to MM's two wins in the top-tier class, while they refer to ALL of Rossi's wins in all classes. Fair point; everything that was written after this initial post is a tangent to Mark's observation.

That said, Rossi is the GOAT (so far). Love the guy and what he does for the sport. To communicate his significance to the sport when speaking to my wife (her sport is tennis), I refer to him as "the Roger Fedderer of motorcycle racing;" or, I refer to Roger Fedderer as "the Rossi of tennis."

haha, good analogy. how aboot MM and Lorenzo?

Stoner = Marcelo Rios

heh

im not mad at all its stiring it looks like stirring the pot because rossi fans cant admit anything.

I hope you are not mad. That would be a waste of emotional energy regardless of your opinion.

truth is i like watching the guy race. i also love his interviews and from what i have seen (this forum or another dont remember) he is very good to his fans.

Don't retract. At least do yourself and your credibility of standing behind your very outspoken opinions of VR in the past. Your naming him OROAT and your signature give away your bias. Giving him some credit for something doesn't automatically remove your post history nor does make your opinion any less biased.

problem is if you state the obvious its like you killed someones first born.

First you move to the middle and now you are going to call your own biased opinions "obvious." While I have never noticed the point you bring up (9 times world champion vs. 2) it may have some validity. But the announcers also show a bias toward whoever is doing well.

When Marquez bashed into Bautista, like he does everybody, in the first race, not one negative word was mentioned. However the announcers kept repeating the mantra "If anybody can come from last it is Marquez..." over and over.

Then when Marquez won Texas and did his amazing qualifying stunt, "Only Mark Marquez can do such things." "Nobody can ride a bike like Marquez."

Then when J-Lo went on his maniacal run of 4 victories, "Nobody can lead a race like J-Lo. He is the very best."

The announcers are guilty of speaking in a lot of absolutes, depending on the situation.

Let's not confuse one piece of material as evidence that your opinion is correct. I mean we live in a world were we have billions of pieces of evidence -from every study of science - to support evolution yet 40% of American's will proudly tell you its "obvious" that we didn't come from monkeys because an old middle eastern book says so.

all i said is that i noticed that rossi is always called the 9 time world champ yet MM JLO whomever is called 2 x champ. call mark the 4x champ call jlo the 4xchamp

That's not all you have said. I don't have the time, nor the energy, to waste digging through your post history to provide a very obvious bias. Your quip about an inside line, knowing damn well that an inside line matters when you are even, is proof of this. You would have been better served to leave that out and focus on one of the few valid points you have made in the last XX years.

ok i will answer each one of your points no problem

i still feel that rossi is orat = over rated of all time. again he did win them but is winning them the same with not good competition? with bias as he got away with stuff in the past because he was rossi and moto gp needed him to be great (much like lebron) with the hightest budget best of everything etc.

just because i like his interviews the ahhhh find him entertaining and know for a fact he is good to his fans doenst mean i dont think he isnt orat.

as far as the announcers go yes they compliment whoever is winning mm jlo rossi whomever. that is not what i am talking about. i am talking about the fact that rossi is 7 times motogp champ. yet they take into account his lower class victories while for everybody else . that is a big difference than saying nobody can lead a race like JLO.

Actually VR 7 times; 2001-2005 and 2008-2009

its a total of 9 he has 2 non premier class titles and you my friend just proved my point.

it should be 7 times because they refer to everyone else as 2 time or he does have a 250 world title however they never do that with rossi. its always 9 times world champ. they did it in germany with danny. they said he was a 250cc world champ. so why not just say 1 time champion. why did they distinguish 250 cc yet not do it with rossi. they should call mark the 3 time in a row world champ as he won 250 moto gp moto gp and 4 of the last 5 world championships he has been if you include 125.

but you can keep saying 9times if you like just say it for all the other guys too.

i have the moto gp subscription and i have watched every race from 2006 on and handpicked the earlier ones.

all i will say is yes he won the races and yes he won the championships. right place right time. did he win yes was the compitition as good hell no. sette, caporosi, biaggi, checa come on now give me a break.

compare that to jlo stoner pedrosa mm dovi etc. you cant

Right. You can't compare... you haven't seen how J Lo, Stoner, Pedrosa, and MM would fare on a 500cc 2-stroke with minimal electronics. Even the original 4-strokes had minimal electronics and much different tires compared to today.

Love it!

From my personal experience over the years, there really is no point of debating anything when it comes to Rossi.. As he is GOD in so many peoples eyes, and as such he is ABOVE REPROACH!

Just remember to forget how well he did when he did not have the best bike on the grid (Ducati)..

Now get on your knees and give us ten Hail Rossi's, and five Hail Uccio's while your at it.

Seems like you have remembered to forget how well he did when he switched from Honda to Yamaha. The M1 wasn't anywhere close to the best bike on the grid.

^^ +1 on that....very modest quietly spoken guy and awesome to watch race, admittedly he had the best bike but he was in a league of his own as well.

I think Rossi can put some credit to Jeremy Burgess as well for his input into getting the Yamaha where it is, he didn't seem to be able to get the Ducati sorted but he was with Doohan and then Rossi on the Honda then went to Yamaha with him.
