how you can stay in SF and let them take half your income is beyond me but hey why not I'm in the same boat here in ny but have tried to leave for tx a few times.

NY has the ideal conditions for you. You belong in your natural habitat.

shilling thanks for serving good for you with your businesses and cars and bikes you have done well. how you can stay in SF and let them take half your income is beyond me but hey why not I'm in the same boat here in ny but have tried to leave for tx a few times. .
Where would you get the erroneous idea that SF takes half my income? Not even CLOSE. The State tax rates and city tax rates are about 1/2 - 3/4% higher, but I'm ok paying a small premium to live in such a fantastic place. As owners of Ductais, WE pay a premium for our bikes, if you own a high end Car, you pay a premium, if you live in London, New York, Hong Kong, you pay through the nose. I'm very OK if I end up paying a little bit more to live here.

I have lived all over the World. Amsterdam, Paris, London, Dubai, New York, Edinburgh. San Francisco is the best place in the World as far as I'm concerned. The most educated population in the whole USA, the highest property values of any major metropolitan area outside New York; a ton of fun, open-minded, crazy, freaky people that makes it fun to live here. I can choose to live anywhere in the World I choose to and I chose to live in San Francisco.

What I take umbrage over, is you using this forum to basically denigrate a bunch of fellow Ducati owners and you DON'T KNOW US buddy! It's fine that you have an opinion on Valentino Rossi... Good for you, but don't start slinging .... that you have no business slinging at us, just because we have a different view on politics, thank you very much.

Lol each time a new wave of members join this awesome forum, they will usually have an issue with very small number of folks. Myself included.

Why anyone would allow someone elses opinion (that may differ from their own) get under their skin and respond in a defensive way is beyond me. Having a back n forth productive discussion is one thing but who cares about someone's extreme views on anything? Good or bad. If you disagree with a comment, counter it and make your point or ignore it n move on. It really is that simple. If Mark is the biggest forum douche, so what? If he's the one member everyone envies, so what? His views on some things may differ from yours but like you (anyone reading this) he has a right to his opinions just like you.

The old timers are used to other old timers who have been here a while and they deal with it much better. This is a great forum with a ton of informative veterans. On the flipside, at times, you will have to either deal with or ignore things that don't float your boat.

How about we try somethin new and get back on topic n drop the petty .....

funny, only people living in the bay area believe that self given title of "the best place to live on earth". I lived in SF 6 years and I never understood it. Yes, beautiful landscape, great restaurants, high bio and tech energy. You forgot to mention the most awful, depressing, unpleasant weather, traffic stinks in the bay area, the city lives backwards to the ocean for how cold windy, foggy and unpleasant it is. elitism is over the roof, as l depicted in a southpark episode where SF people loved to smell their own farts. Finally, for whatever strange reason people are uglier than average. being gay is a status (?????) You say you have lived in london, paris, amsterdam, and you say the SF is more fun?? I had more fun 1 month in Barcelona that in 6 years in SF.

This thread is a derailed train wreck of off topic opinions and views...

Move along, nothing to see here
