Just to let you all know if you do your own oil change, you will need to turn the engine over several times to get another 1/3 litre of oil out of the pump and top end. Easy way to do this is put the bike on paddock stand select sixth gear and turn the rear wheel by hand. 2 full revolutions should do it. You will see the oil coming out the drain hole. When changed with the filter, I put 3.75 litres in.
I'me running 15w50 fully synthetic, and would reccommend all those of you running their bikes in hot climates to do the same, its a little thicker than a 10w40 so shouldnt get so much blow by when running in hot ambient temps.
My bike lives in Spain and gets thrashed in temps well over 30 deg C. I rang up 4 different dealers in the UK and 2 said 10w40 the other 2 15w50. I tried to ring the factory in Italy, for a definitive answer on oil specs as my mate speaks Italian, but I think they must have been on there 2 hr lunch break or maybe they have all gone to German classes!!!
