Panigale heat

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I have emailed Ducati about this issue. I got a response from Ducati corporate saying "get in touch with your dealer".

I'm going to wait (live in upstate New York, anyway!) until Ducati provides a fix kit for the Panigale. Seems tape is not the answer. I, also, applaud Ducati if they are addressing this important issue!

What Heat, Again!!

Seriously folks. Maybe a poll should go up on whether all those complaining of heat off this bike ever owned any other Ducati superbike models? There is absolutely zero comparison to the engine / exhaust heat given off by the 1098/1198 series when compared to this bike!

All this talk about wraps and gadgets to reduce heat is grand if that is your thing, despite white heat wrap looking like a dirty sock wrapped around the header pipe.I miss my 1198s Corse for a number of reasons but thank my lucky stars my Tri has nowhere near the burning heat coming off the pipes and engine! I'm sure those who have owned these models do concur.

If something trick comes out for the rear header pipe I won't be a hypocrite and not pick one up. However, I see no reason to completely freak out over this issue. My one cent worth opinion. Thx.

In the 70's, Honda (am I allowed to say that on Ducati forum?) made double-skinned exhaust pipes to solve any heat issues and to stop the chrome turning blue. It's still a valid idea, but just a bit heavier and more expensive to produce. Maybe we should water-cool the rear exhaust pipe!

But then again, I'll just wait for Ducati to solve the problem...

Any updates from dealers? The Australian counterparts are at the bottom of the food chain. I spoke to them today but they haven't heard anything.

Now see....all of you are looking at this the wrong way! Its not to much heat coming off the rear pipe....ITS THE PERFECT WINTER RIDING MOTORCYCLE! :D

But getting back to the subject, the heat really doesnt bother me at all. Yea its warm....BUT YOUR SITTING ON AN ENGINE! Its not like were stratteling a ice cube. Believe it or not there are metalic moving parts with oil lubricated parts moving against each other with explosions going on between your legs...hence the heat release...And the faster you go....the more heat it will make. And the faster you go the wind will also cool it....maybe thats your problem...maybe your going to SLOW!

Like Gunny I'm of the opinion the Pani isn't any hotter than any of the previous Ducati suberbikes. Having said that, like those previous Ducati's it does get hot. So I'm open to any ideas to reduce heat. I'm not complaining about it, just looking for ways to make the bike more comfortable to ride on those none winter days lol. Don't really care for the look of the exhaust wrap so I'll probably go the Jet-Hot rout like I did on my previous bike.

what heat issues?? i don't have any since i ride in shorts and muscle shirt and rip wheelies down the road!!! HAHAHAHA and to add if you live in a colder climate do what i do, put bike away in summer and drive in cold winter months NO heat issues there!!

Was at my dealer over the weekend getting the new map loaded (very nice improvement BTW - mucho smoother), and was told there is a heat shielding related recall coming. No details, so it'll be interesting to see what it is. Like many I'm rather enjoying the crotch warmer here in December, but when it's 90+ degrees next July and I'm stuck in 40mph traffic on the way to some good riding I'll be happy for some relief. Shouldn't really take too much to dial it down just enough to keep it from being complaint-material, which it obviously has been for enough riders that Ducati are addressing it.

it's absolutely not nearly as bad as my 996 was. and probably only slightly worse than the heat coming out the right side on the aprilia rsv4
