Welcome home 273.
Finally got to pick up the bike today and did 350km on it, which included some night riding through some serious twisties......INSANE !!!
I cannot believe the difference between the 1199 to this bike. Even with the bike not set up to how i like it, it is a vast improvement and to try and keep it in the 5000rpm range.....yeah right !!
It gets hot going slowly, it is a pain in the arse sitting on a hwy at 110km/H, not that I did much of that, but they are minor things to what this bike has to offer. The sound with the full race system is intoxicating, the quick shift is flawless and the bike is simply stunning.......Good on you Ducati, this is one awesome bike !!!
I really don't see a need for the Tuneboy or Rapidbike as well as mine works.
I can literally see the smile on your face as you typed that Roo!
I'm extremely happy for you my good friend! I pray that you will always remain safe each time you throw a leg over that beautiful machine to enjoy all you've earned! God Bless!
I'm glad to hear that your Anniversario is working as good as mine. I only have 406 miles on mine but it seems that the quick shifter just kept improving as the miles added up. I really don't see a need for the Tuneboy or Rapidbike as well as mine works. Congrats again!!!
I agree. Take the settings out of default and it's much smoother and much more fun to ride. Intoxicating indeed. It's difficult to not ride hard everywhere just so you can hear the sweet music that is the exhaust note.
blue Akra, which of course has been shown a million times already
Thanks Gunny for your post and kind words, so good to see you here.....Yes my brother I still had the smile this morning and even more so after the second ride, this bike is getting better with each outing
Seems like we made a excellent choice
I am only going to put the rapid bike on because I have it here from the 1199. Totally agree with you in fact everything is getting better the more K's I put on it
All done, had to stiffen up the steering a little bit and change the other settings to suit these roads and another day of smiling.
I just enjoy making it bark on the upshift....it seems even better than the 1199
been a bit of a pain with some of the upgrades, got sent the wrong reservoirs, one of the holders couldnt get the bushes out without stuffing them so waiting on some to arrive before fitting it, back brake reservoir was to big and NCR Ti clip ons were a bit to short.
Still a way to go yet but at least I am getting to ride it now.
Here is a pic with the one holder that was ok, the rear sets, CNC slider and blue Akra, which of course has been shown a million times already and the CNC oil filler cap....more to come as it goes on.
I think I have 2900 miles and I'm sorry to say the blue goes away...it's mostly a dull gray now.
It must form an oxidation layer of some sort I guess and the sandpaper removes it? Probably why the cans don't turn blue. I think they have some sort of protective coating. Interesting. Thanks for the sweet tip brotha!Take some 1500-2000 grit sand paper and polishing compound to the pipe. I do this every now and then when bored in the garage. The pipe returns to it's natural color, then you get the really pretty blue back after a few heat cycles. It actually seems to get better every time I do this.
I love those rearsets. If only they made them in their blue color like they do some of their other parts.

They have them in these colours, and I think you can get them re anodised if you want, I did it with my holders... https://www.designcorse.com/collect...cts/ducati-899-1199-rearsets-althea-racing-le
Reanodized through who...cnc?
Brother that has to be the absolute best looking bike I have EVER seen FOR REAL !!!
Its so unfortunate that that beautiful blue exhaust color eventually fades away.
I always thought that seeing that hue was so intoxicating and exotic Roo. If only there was a way to retain its color there, Im surprised no one has found a way to keep it there using some sort of sealant etc ya know?
I just saved the side shot of your bike as my screensaver on my 27" iMac at home, and each time i log on it fills the entire screen with all its glory! Proud to call you my friend, and I truly appreciate the kind and supportive comments you have given me over all these years here brother! Keep up the great work as this whole forum is glued to this thread no doubt!!
I would be willing to make a trip there just to see your bike in person!!
