Gunny LOVES matte! LOL :D

Wow November? They really make you wait down under.

My decision really I could of had it 4 weeks ago, but thought I would wait till the last shipment.

Now the carbon is here, the decals are here and everything else i ordered, so I can pretty much get straight into it.

Notice you bought the FullSix nose but the carbonvani tank. I have the complete CDT body (modified a bit matte finish) and the CDT tank. I bought a carbonvani tank a year ago and it was damaged when it arrived. One of the front mounts had snapped off so I sent it back. I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the tank. The CDT tank is excellent. Wondering why you didn't go CDT on the tank?

That was the old build on the 1199 that I was using Carbonvani, this build on the 1299 is complete FullSix, there is a list a on page 12 of everything that will go on the bike.

Carbonvani was nice but fitting it needed a bit of work.

So your doing a full CDT on a new 1299 ANV? Are you keeping the stock wheels?

Yes, unless I decide on Carbon again as it did make the 1199 so much fun to ride......very nimble is how I would put it:)

yes it is a Anni......and no need for the sorry, there is a lot of sh..t in there to read :D

Ok that's what I thought. So now I just have to ask. Since like me it looks like your going to change pretty much the whole bike why would you not start with a base or even used 1299. I don't get the Annaversario then take off all the stuff that you just paid for. Basically I needed a motor, swingarm and frame/airbox. That's all that's left from the factory. Seems like you could have saved a lot of $$ just doing a ground up built. Just asking.

Good question.....Basically it will still be the Anni, pretty much same paint work with some added carbon showing here and there......pics will come when it is finished.

I will keep all the OEM parts to change it back if I want to. I was going to get a 2016R but I like the 1299 engine better for road usability and this came out and I thought I would see if I could get one and I just got in, if I had not I probably would have gone the way you said......who knows:)

Carbon Fibre from FullSix arrived Friday, so today I sat down and coated the Matte finished parts with Nanoformula ceramic coating and followed with Nanoformula soft protect, this last coating allows water to just run off taking dirt and dust with it, no washing needed. Perfect job to do while the bikes were on.

The finish on this carbon is awesome and definitely no work needed to put this on the bike......I would definitely recommend FullSix.

I can tell you guys from 3 1299s worth of experience that the CDT/Full Six cf has a fantastic finish but I will also tell you that a whole body kit for the 1299 is far from a "bolt on" you will for sure be doing some fitting and modifying and will probably hear some vocabulary from yourself that you may not have heard before. My first set was a pre production matte 1299 road version and was a nightmare. The fuel tanks are great out of the box. Worse offenders are the one piece rear subframe and the electronic holders. Also the fairing stay is not correct. I have what I was told the first "correct" 1299 fairing stay arriving next week so we will see. The one I got two months ago would not even bolt to the frame as the holes were not alligned. I have pics of this stuff if anyone wants them. I'm hoping for the best on the new arrivals. Simple stuff (fenders, panels etc are not an issue)

After going the full kit last time, I learnt my lesson and only went the simple stuff this time. I was going to go the monocoque, but then thought I might at sometime take someone else for a ride.

I might at some stage go more stuff but for now this is enough.
Let me know how you go with the stay, because that is one part I was thinking of getting.

This is crap they sent a month ago. Again great exterior finish and then it all goes bad. The frame mount slide bolt goes in fine but even with the elongated upper screw slots, the holes did not line up with the frame holes. The IMU, headlight bracket posts are too short and the maim light arm mounting pins look like, well you decide. These fit into the rummer grommet light mount and are supposed to be smooth and flush. They are not and they are too short. There is a lot on this piece that is not accurate. I documented this for CDT. We shall see in a wee of so if they got the issues fixed. The CF processing is not their issue, its the QC dept letting things out that ate "not ready for prime time"
Hopefully they have fixed the subframe issues as well because there were a bunch of them. I do not have any issues taking drills and Dremel tools to a $2000.00 subframe but there are plenty of people who would and you need to.
