Unreal pics, love it.

What makes the desmo your fav?

The desmo is a great mix between old and new. It feels truly special too unlike any bike I've ever ridden. It's performance way surpasses my capability. There is a rawness about it that makes it so visceral. And the sound is other worldly. The best ever created in my view. I also love just the idea behind it and ducati's willingness to take on such a challenge.

Maybe I'm caught up in the marketing hype but 11 years on I think it will go down as a classic and one of the truly great bikes to come out of the last several decades. It has steadily risen on my top 10 list as well over the years and has eclipsed even the mighty 998R which previously held the #1 spot. Don't get me wrong. The 998R is insanely good to ride. It's the pinnacle on the design front and represents the very best of what Ducati does but the sense of occasion on the desmo is second to none!! You have to ride one if you haven't. Words just don't do it justice!

Always good getting somebody's insight who's ridden most desirable bikes/cars.
For example jay leno, if he says something is good i usually will take his word for it because well, he's damn nearly driven/ridden every desirable car or motorbike made.

Can it be street ridden? Or does it behave too aggressively between idle and 4000 rpm?

I say get a h2R to join the family ... Capable of 400kmh out of the box an a power output that would go decent in a car lol. 240 kw....:eek:

Rode up to Redmond today and visited your SL’s sibling. So very pretty!

This is still my favorite thread of the whole forum. Every time I see a new post, I always smile and click to see the update.

Kevin, you are the best.

Haven't had all of these at the house before and they likely won't be together again so I figure why not shoot them all?

Missing the V4R which arrives next week and hopefully one other special one next month. But some of these will be going to storage so here's a couple pics I've never seen before while they are all together.

Cheers fellas!

Beautiful. Well done!

You are my hero!

:p Thanks man. Looks like you're local. We should connect for a ride one of these days now that the weather is improving.

I see you ride a 1098R. I took out my bayliss last week and put about 50 miles on her. Such amazing bikes. That was my first proper ride on the 1098 in over a year and I rediscovered what makes them so special!

Cheers!

HAHA! Thanks Ryan. You don't need to check this thread for updates. You're usually the first to know, sometimes even before I do!!! :D

I really enjoy watching your collection grow as well mate. Some really special stuff your finding.

Kevin

:D :D :D

But the updates are still always epic. It's like getting great news twice!

BTW, I've spent more time on the V4R this past week. Now that I've added some miles I've started to explore the higher rev ranges. It turns out the bike DOES power wheelie :D!

Needs to be ridden very differently than the V4S. But up in the rev ranges it is a manic and ferocious beast. Yet as I mentioned before very docile around town and low in the revs. I've never experienced anything like it. Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!!

Call me mystic 007 lol. As i expected the minute you got it into higher rev ranges the thing turns into a manic animal.

Thats no lil wheelie in that pic either :D

Curious, where all electronics turned off ?
Most importantly glad to see you having a ball out there brother.
