Rode up to Stumpy Meadows then towards Loon Lake with another Ducati (1199) and a new Aprilia Tuono. Just learning the bike but super fun in the twisties...

Blue Ridge Parkway. The protruding rock is around mile marker 425 but JDJ will chime in on the exact location. I have an old shot where the fog lifted and made a fogbow

Excellent. We are riding that from Deals Gap all the way to Maryland and then up through PA, NY, NH, VT and ME to NS in 3 weeks. Sometimes I can’t sleep at night thinking about this trip. You’ve talked me into finding a way to bring an SLR for what will be 3-4 weeks on a bike.

The top picture is a pull-off on the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Pisgah Inn. The other photo is also from the Parkway of Looking Glass Rock.

From Deal’s Gap, make your way to Great Smoky Mountain National Park and start on the Parkway in Cherokee. Head towards Asheville.

Nice. How's the fresh rubber?

Traffic coming over from Cherokee should subside about mid August when the brats go back to school. I've sworn off dropping down to I-40 at SoCo. It is to tempting.

New tires transform the bike. I’m about to head back up before the risk of an afternoon storm increases. The wild fires out west have been making the view hazy recently. I’m ready for the Fall.

You get your new wheels yet?

They are stateside but not yet. I'm going to hike the Courthouse and Pisgah trail today but rolling in the brz. (I have this thing about the last week of the month.)

Great shot.

Maybe Adobe will add a Cali wildfire filter in photoshop. It's still thick on this side.

It was a cloud bank last Sunday but still walked Courthouse and Pisgah.

My kid was white knuckled in the passenger seat coming up 151. Mailboxes aside, a pretty sweet run.

If I had a side car I could bring my dog.

My kids are grown but I’ve got a pic somewhere with a couple of my daughters (I’ve got several) on my 2007 CBR1000RR. I’ll try to find it. It’s great that you got your kid on the back.

I’ve kinda of thought about getting my 20 year old girl started on a motorcycle. She really enjoyed riding as a kid on the back.
