I have faith in Carbon Fiber. It's been around long enough and put through its paces on everything from F1 to mountain bikes. I actually been recently riding a Carbon mountain bike and am really beating on it, including a few crashes (I know it's nothing to compare with the stress of CF frame would take on on the SL) and it has not disappointed me yet.

What's funny is that I was about to go in that thread and say the exact same thing. :D

But then I compared the times and saw that I was actually a few minutes later. Haha

No assumption to be made, what he said is a fact. They have been running them for a while. Several other teams have experimented with them also.

Sam Lowes' crew chief loves them and tried to get Sam to use one, but he didn't like it. He tested it a few times, but it was too stiff and didn't give him the feel he wanted. The bosses are big on them and it actually got a little heated because of how bad they wanted him to use one...and because of how bad he didn't want to use one.

like i wrote earlier, it appears that those carbon fiber swingarms are not pure solid cf, but appear to be a thick cf wrap over metal extrusions running throughout....

Quote: The swingarm is carbon, which suggests the team is satisfied that its stiffness won’t require constant adjustment. Long ago, the teams made clear why they have not made more use of carbon structure: Motorcycles have very little grip in comparison with cars, so they must promptly adapt to tire and rules changes. Making changes to metal is just cutting and welding, but changing structural carbon parts require expensive, time-consuming mold-making.

So I hear this bike also comes with the standard muffler kit which is the exhausts under the bike?

Out of the box the bike will have the same exhaust we've had on the Panigale models (under the bike) - according to Claudio Domenicali at the bikes presentation in Milan on Monday, this is related to emissions in the USA - the bike will also have the same Race Exhaust as the European model, which is the Akrapovic WSBK dual exit exhaust under the seat

that muffler look like ...., I don't care how bad ... it is still look like ...., ducati can give me that chunk of pipe for free and still wont put in my poor man 1199

I love the way the bike looks, but that's me. I would buy one if I had 80k sitting on my nightstand. Not having even a night stand, I will buy the wheels and a CF tail, and a couple of other bits to make my 1299 special to me.

P.S. I would buy the exhaust if they sold it. It looks badass, but just to run a normal belly pan would be nice.
