Question about Brembo RCS Master Cylinder for Brake and Clutch

Ducati Forum

Yeah Ed is correct used to be lots of guys on here but it has changed over time this board has turned into a .... show. I am actually that guy that offered and still offer the GP master and RCS clutch master carbon switch setup. Also if running the GP or RCS masters the standard reservoir brackets will not work so you will need the carbon reservoir bracket kit for both clutch/brake.

Thanks Endodoc,
hmmm I guess, I will need to do more research on this and find those aftermarket companies that offer the ready to use solution for the switch...

That solution has been out for a few years. Motocorse showcases them on the 1199RS build they did in 2015. Clean solution for sure but be sure you have the engineering figured out as there are no adjustments to the figment. I’m guessing you will have to fuss with it a bit as opposed to it being a set it and forget it solution. If you’re one of those gram counters, they are also not the most weight conscious decision.

Hi Endodoc,
Yes, this is high (cost) risk if somehow it did not fit and hit the fairing... plus I worry more about the leaks...
as you point out, this is not light, especially when you have the brake fluid, so if most of the weight being hold by the 2 nipples, it might develop leak, and that would be bad...
I am not a gram counter, this is purely for "eye candy" / viewing purposes only :D

I’m just guessing they would leak somewhat for the reasons you pointed out. I have never seen them used in any competitive environment not that it means much.

Yeah with the virus epidemic and all the Starbucks closed this the new place for the newbies to hang out and show off there decorated V4's.

Mick1976, you are a "site sponsor" and I am sure you like to "show off" your offering to attract buyer.

So what is the differences with people (like me) posting (or in your term "showing off") our decorated V4?

Did I (or several other people) go against the rule of this forum? Post like mine, do generated traffic to this website, it might not be the traffic that get you to sell your stuff, but it's traffic for this website that help this website relevant.

Not to mention, it might inspire other forum member who want to "decorate" their V4 that they purchase using the money they earned through hard work!

and what about this "newbie" thing, you must mean that people who just recently join this forum, are you trying to pull some "virtual seniority" just because you joint this forum a long time ago?
or worse some kind of "age discrimination"? I am guessing you are born in 1976, well I was born in 1973 but I won't pull that kind of seniority.
You should be glad there are lot of newbies joining this forum, fresh member that is active is needed to replace the older member who no longer active because maybe they change their bike or for other reason.

This is the last time, I am going to acknowledge/response to your "negative" tone, I understand this is internet and there is always be some people who is stress/depress and full of negativity...
but came from a site sponsor like you ???...
I mean if your investment to become site sponsor did not pay off for you, just stop sponsoring, don't offend other people who might be your potential customer!

Yeah I am a site sponsor but the reality is I don't have to advertise my services been building custom parts, carbon fiber and custom race bikes for 25 years. Wish I could write a huge book on all this but got to get back into the shop.

Good news from MotoCorse,
I contacted MotoCorse Italy last night for more information on how they secure this reservoir and make sure it is compatible to the latest RCS16 Clutch Corsa Corta which Brembo just launch and suppose to be available this April before this corona virus forced Brembo to close down.

They sent me a detailed info and I think this is a pretty secure and solid design. The bleed nipple thread is used to securely bolted the reservoir and you can still bleed the brakes on the master cylinder. (your wrench will be submerged in the pool of the brake fluid).
They use 2 double O-Ring on the connection between the black nipple of the Master Cylinder and the holes for it on the MotoCorse reservoir.
However, MotoCorse was not too sure whether it will clear the V4 fairing when the steering wheel is move from full lock to another full lock.
I guess, they never actually install one on a Panigale V4.

Now, its time for me to think this over and make decision...

The only thing I don't like is, the LEVER of the Corsa Corta is not as nicely design (in term of looks) as the Ducati by Rizoma brake lever that came with my bike package from Ducati factory (with the word Ducati on the brake lever it self and it also have the holes at the end of the lever for aero passthrough).
I also noticed that the design of the hinge (for the lever folding mechanism) on the Corsa Corta is different then the folding hinge of the Ducati by Rizoma brake lever so I cannot use the Ducati by Rizoma brake lever.
So I need to decide which is more important in my modification goal.

I still have about 1 months to think about this, since I just paid for a T-Drive rotor which is in back order until Brembo factory hopefully start delivery in about 1 months from now... not to mention the RCS16 Corsa Corta Clutch MC is in back order too.

In the end, I want to say Thank You to everyone who participate in this thread who shares their experience and knowledge. :D

There will always be purists that think lesser of everyone who does not use their bike for 100% racetrack. It's a better place if we all just come together over our love of motorcycles, and understand that people have different ways of appreciating motorcycles, from building and racing a100% racetrack bike, to building a new bike just meant to be a showpiece in your living room. Both extremes demonstrate people excited about motorcycles.

If this was a superbike racing forum, then I would say "pretty" build threads are not appropriate.

I’ve been running Mick’s RCS brackets for awhile. I am a gram counter so these seemed like the best option. I’m happy with them. I mounted the clutch switch under the master but don’t really have a need for it.

A lot of "shiny" ti bolts you got there.

Like I said, I’m weight conscious. Grams turn into ounces, ounces turn into pounds. Shaving weight everywhere I can has netted me a bike that’s 364lbs wet in full street trim.
Sounds like you are doing some of the same stuff that the some guys on the forum are being crucified for. Interesting. Carry on.

Did I do something to piss you off? OP was asking for solutions and I provided one for him.

For someone who complains about the attitude of this forum, you sure seem to have one.

No not at all just bringing to light that we are all bolting things on. Complaining hardly just pointing out the people that are spreading the negativity should just go. I'm just doing what others are allowed to do.

Hello Roque,

May I know how you mount the clutch switch under the clutch master cylinder? Are you just taking out the original switch and install it to the new clutch without any modification? Do you need custom bracket to hold it?
if you have a free time, would you be able to take a picture of the lower part of your clutch master cylinder, that would allow me to understand more.

Also, I notice your clutch lever have a hole (aero hole) at the end of the lever, just the way I like it. My bike came with a Ducati by Rizoma lever with that hole, however, I notice the RCS16 clutch lever do not came with a brake lever that have hole in it.
Did you change the lever to something else (after market one)? Is yes, what brand did you use? Did you use the RCS16 for the clutch (but non corsa corta version)?

And how about the right brake level, I notice you did not have a lever with hole in it, is this correct? did you use the RCS17 corsa corta version for the brake and that is why your brake lever do not have hole?

If I decide to go ahead (which I had not decided yet), I prefer the Corsa Corta version, for both clutch and brake, unfortunately both have a different hinge design for the lever (different than the non corsa corta one) so for sure I can't just move my Ducati by Rizoma lever to the Corsa Corta version... I am hoping some company will make a nice lever with holes for the Corsa Corta version...
